About Hero Passion XPro
The Hero Passion Pro BS6 has been spied for the first time and is likely to be launched soon. It’s likely to garner a price hike of Rs 7,000 - Rs 8,000 over the BS4 model which retails at Rs 60,900 (disc). The bike seems to come with cosmetic and mechanical updates which keep it in line with the current trends. It features a new front fascia along with a redesigned tank and sharper tank extensions. A new livery also gives it a fresh new look.
The Passion Pro BS6 is likely to draw power from the same 109.15cc, single-cylinder air-cooled motor seen on the Splendor iSmart BS6. In its current state of tune, it makes 9.5PS at 7500rpm and 9Nm at 5500rpm, mated to a 4-speed gearbox. Features like i3S idle start-stop and IBS come as standard.
Hero MotoCorp launched the Passion XPro back in 2018 with a new 109.15cc engine, updated features, enhanced styling and brand new graphics and colours. The commuter bike now features sportier styling thanks to the sharp fuel tank with a flush fuel lid, dynamic fuel tank shrouds, dual-tone mirrors and a racy rear cowl. New dual-tone colours include Sports Red with Black, Black with Sports Red, Black with Techno Blue, Black with Heavy Grey and Force Silver with Black. The Passion XPro further gets Automatic Headlamp On (AHO), an LED tail lamp and a semi-digital instrument console that includes a digital fuel gauge, side-stand indicator and an odometer.
There are two variants of the Passion XPro - i3s Drum Alloy and i3s Disc Alloy. The base variant comes fitted with alloy wheels and drum brakes at both ends and is priced at Rs 58,200 (ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the i3s Disc Alloy has a front disc brake and is priced at Rs 60,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2018 Passion XPro is part of the highly competitive commuter motorcycles segment and locks horns with the Bajaj Discover 110, the Honda CD Dream Series, the Honda Livo and the TVS Victor.

Passion XPro Expert Review
Whereas the Hero Passion Pro is the quintessential commuter, the XPro is a stylistically enhanced version of the same. The bike is meant for those who prefer their commuters to be stylish. The Hero Passion XPro gets a sharp front headlamp flanked by two pilot lamps. It also gets new tank shrouds that result in a rather
sporty look. A sharp looking LED tail lamp further adds to the XPro’s stylish image. The bike gets a semi-digital instrument cluster and a firmer and more supportive seat than the Passion Pro.
The XPro also gets a bigger engine than the Passion Pro’s 97.2cc unit. The new 109.1cc motor has been borrowed from the Hero Splendor iSmart+ 110 and delivers 9.4PS of power and 9Nm of torque. The engine also features Hero’s i3S start-stop technology, which should improve the XPro’s fuel efficiency figures.
When it comes to suspension, the Passion XPro gets a firmer setup. However, ride quality hasn’t been affected and continues to be pliant. When combined with the double-downtube cradle chassis, it gives the XPro a planted feel and helps it tackle bumps and undulations comfortably. The optional 240mm front disc brake also offers plenty of bite.
The suspension has been set up on the firmer side though ride quality isn’t harsh. The new double-downtube cradle chassis feels planted and tackles bumps and undulations well even in corners. The optional 240mm front disc brake offers plenty of bite.
Design
The XPro gets a sharper front headlamp with two pilot lamps/ DRLs. Cosmetic enhancements to the bike include fuel tank gets extensions and a sharply-designed LED tail lamp. The engine, exhaust and alloy wheels are all blacked out. The semi-digital instrument cluster that shows trip info and fuel level features a striking design.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The Passion XPro borrows its motor from the Hero iSmart 110 and displaces 109.1cc. It makes 9.4PS of power and 9Nm of torque, up by 1PS and 0.95Nm. The new engine gets Hero’s i3S technology which should help improve fuel efficiency. The larger 13-litre fuel tank should extend range.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Passion XPro comes to a halt via 130mm drum brakes on both wheels. However, Hero also offers the option of a 240mm front disc for the XPro. The bike’s suspension has been tuned to be firm though it hasn’t impacted the ride quality. The double-downtube cradle chassis offers enhanced rigidity, thus boosting the XPro’s stability and handling. Long hours on the XPro’s saddle will likely be more comfortable than on the Passion Pro’s thanks to the firmer and more supportive.
Features
The Hero Passion XPro gets a larger halogen setup with Always Headlamp On feature (AHO). It also comes with DRLs for enhanced day-time visibility. For braking, buyers can opt for a 240mm disc brake at the front.
