My Bike
My Bike
I am Suraj from West Bengal and I own a brand new Pulsar 180 Midnight Black purchased on 16th Oct 2012.Though this may not be the perfect time to write a review about the bike as its just been a couple a days riding it but still I would like to share a few things with you all. On the day of Ghatasthapana (Durga pooja) on 16th Oct’12 I bought this bike. The excitement was on top when I reached the showroom to get my bike. However the dealer was not so excited to hand over the bike so soon. :( . I am writing this coz when I reached the showroom my bike was not ready. Anyway after a long 2 hours wait I was able to take the bike home. On my way all the eyes were on my new 180. Oh!! what an experience it was!!! I was told not to open the throttle above 50 for the first 1000 kms but to my surprise the bike would easily go above 60 within no time. It was very difficult for me to maintain a speed of 45-50 in the beginning. I was told by many 180 owners that the bike would give an average of 40-42 or even less before its first servicing but luckily I get 45-50. Touch wood!! This new Pulsar UG4 has many features that would make this bike stand on top compared to other bikes of its class. the best ones being the display lights on the handle which illuminate in the night when the headlights are switched on. the handle display looks just superb!!! the bike is much more smooth then the previous versions Pulsars. the gear box is much more better now. There were not many options for me before I made my mind to buy this beast. I just wanted a bike with good looks and superb pickup. Driving a Honda bike for 10 long years was a very boring thing for me now. I hate the looks of Apache (no hard feelings for the owners though). Honda Unicorn was not up to the mark in looks!! and drivind a 12 or 150 cc was not acceptable at this point. So the ultimate choice was this BEAST 180. pulsar 220 was again a option but the ride felt a bit complicated. Last but not the least the bike has no kick which makes it "HATKE" then the other ones. To cut short the experience is just SUPERB riding this 180 beauty. Note:The bike may not be suitable for short guys who ride bikes like Splendor etc.
