It uses the same 660cc triple engine from the Trident 660

Triumph has launched the Tiger Sport 660 adventure sports tourer in India at Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom pan India). This makes the Tiger Sport 660 Rs 1.5 lakh dearer than the Trident 660 and Rs 1.7 lakh dearer than its chief rival: the Kawasaki Versys 650. Triumph had begun bookings for the Tiger Sport 660 a while back with deliveries slated to commence a few weeks from now. Unlike the Trident and the Kawasaki Z650, the price difference between the Tiger Sport 660 and Versys 650 is pretty steep and justifying the premium is going to be quite challenging.

This is the second bike to use the 660cc triple motor, arriving in the same tune of 81PS and 64Nm as the Trident. However, we expect its performance to be slightly less peppy as it has to lug around 17kg more than the naked. Triumph has made certain tweaks to the chassis as well to suit its touring intentions well.

Besides the adventure sports clothing, long-travel suspension and relaxed ergonomics are what differentiate the Tiger Sport 660 from its naked sibling. You cannot expect it to be too adventurous, though, as it is running 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and Michelin Road 5 tyres. The Nissin braking units remain the same as the Trident.

We will be bringing in a closer look of the Tiger Sport 660 soon on our website as well as on our Youtube channel, where you can know all about the bike in Hindi.
