2016 KTM RC 390

The 2016 KTM RC 390 that was unveiled at the Milan Motor Show 2015 is expected to be launched in the Indian market by early next year. Although, the bike has received visual updates including side mounted exhaust instead of the underbelly one, the Indian market will receive the existing underbelly exhaust in its 2016 model.

According to the manufacturer, the new aluminium exhaust system has been used to meet the strict Euro 4 emission norms. The India bound 2016 KTM RC 390 with underbelly exhaust is already meeting the Indian emission standards. The bike is expected to be priced more economically in India as the new aluminium muffler addition could result in a price increase.

The company is also planning to replace the KTM RC 390 with a new KTM motorcycle in 2017 and this could be one more reason of not changing the underbelly muffler for the Indian market.

Except for the new exhaust, the India bound model will get all the advance features slated for the 2016 model, helping it maintain its place in the market. The 2016 version receives a slipper clutch, which is currently available in KTM 390 Duke. The bike will also come with a ride-by-wire technology that results in a smoother power delivery. The new KTM RC 390 is powered by the 373cc liquid-cooled engine that puts out a maximum power of 43bhp at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 35Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The front disc brake also gets upgraded and comes with a 320mm diameter along with adjustable brake and clutch levers.

The KTM RC 390 was introduced to the Indian market in 2014 and has become one of the most popular motorcycles in the country.
