Hero Motocorp kicks off brand new journey with 5 lakh sales

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has begun its new journey with a robust five lakh-plus volume sales in the very first month of donning a new brand identity. Hero MotoCorp, which unveiled its new global logo and brand communication in London earlier in August, notched up sales of 503,654 units of two-wheelers. August 2011 saw a growth of 18.6 per cent over the corresponding month in 2010 when the company had sold 424,617 units of two-wheelers.

 

The Hero Motocorp has announced to launch two bikes in India inculding Hero Motocorp Impulse and Hero Motocorp Maestro. The cumulative sales of Hero MotoCorp between April to August this year has now crossed the 2.5 million milestone – a growth of 21% per cent over 2,086,342 units sold in the same period last year. This has set the company well on course to meet the initial guidance of six million volume sales in the fiscal year 2011-12.

 

Commenting on the sales performance Mr. Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. said, “August has been a memorable and exciting month for us. We created a new name, identity and positioning, and have begun to build the company’s new brand architecture. Going forward, our strategy is to make sure that we continue to delight and surprise our customers and stakeholders in the true spirit of “Hum Mein Hai Hero”. We are thrilled with the response to our new brand identity and campaign. The August sales performance has set the pace for the exciting festive season ahead of us as we look to ride our present buoyancy.”

 

Hero MotoCorp has continued to win laurels from various quarters in the industry for its technological excellence. In recognition of highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT), IDG India’s CIO magazine inducted Hero MotoCorp’s Chief Information Officer Mr. Vijay Sethi in CIO Hall of Fame and also awarded CIO 100 Award to him at the 6th annual CIO100 awards in Pune late last month. Cyber Media has also awarded Mr. Sethi the Champion CIO award (in the above Rs.. 1000 crore turnover category) – an award that recognizes excellence of CIOs in bringing about innovative and path-breaking changes to their business through IT.
