2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber Launched In India

The Bonnie demands a hefty premium over the outgoing model

Triumph seems to be on a launching spree. Barely a week after launching the special edition Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen and Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm, the British brand has brought in the Bonneville Bobber at Rs 11.75 lakh (ex-showroom India). So what do you get for a premium of almost Rs 1.5 lakh over the older model?

The highlight of the 2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber is the updated hardware. The British bobber gets a new fat 16-inch front wheel, instead of the skinny 19-inch unit on the outgoing model. Triumph has equipped the bike with new 47mm Showa cartridge forks and a link-type monoshock. Even the axial Brembo calipers, paired with the 310mm twin discs up front, is new for 2021. Braking duties at the rear continue to be handled by a 265mm single disc with a Nissin caliper. Lastly, the bike gets a bigger 12-litre fuel tank, instead of the 8-litre unit on the outgoing model.

The Bonneville Bobber is powered by the same 1200cc parallel-twin engine, producing 78PS at 6,100rpm and 106Nm at 4,000rpm. Triumph claims the torque curve is noticeably smoother with over 100Nm available from as early as 3,000rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, paired with a slip-and-assist clutch.

Electronics on the Triumph Bonneville Bobber include two riding modes: Rain and Road, along with adjustable traction control, dual channel ABS, and cruise control.

The Triumph Bonneville Bobber is a unique offering. It continues to feature distinctive elements, such as slash-cut exhausts, an adjustable single seat, and stubby or ‘bobbed’ fenders. Triumph has launched the bobber in three shades: Matte Storm Grey/Matte Ironstone, Cordovan Red, and Jet Black.
