Street 750 750cc Expert Review

Harley Davidson, a strong contender among leisure bike brands across the globe, after analyzing the Indian market and its situations has launched a whole new cruiser named as Street 750 at the 12th Indian Auto Expo. It is a whole new platform of mid-weight cruiser bike by the company, which will also be having another cruiser that will be more affordable and highly competitive machine christened as Street 500. To run these machines, the manufacturer has produced to new mills that make them powerful plus fuel efficient at the same time.

Harley Davidson Street 750, launched with a price tag of Rs. 4.1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which makes it current most affordable cruiser by the company. It will be competing against Triumph Boneville, a classic and inexpensive machine by the iconic British motorcycle brand. The Street 750 houses a 749cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, V-Twin, Revolution X engine that is mated with the six-speed constant mesh. The maker of this bike has incorporated the EFI technology to the engine that makes it great for commuting and for highway cruising. The maximum torque generated by the mill is 65Nm at the rev up rate of 4000rpm.

Harley Davidson Street 500 is an about to enter in the lives of the people of India. Soon, this machine will be taking everyone's breath as the expected or estimated price of the bike is around Rs. 3 lakh, which is quite low and appealing. The manufacturer has blessed this machine with a Revolution X 496cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, V-Twin engine that comes mated with the six-speed manual transmission. The appearance of the bike will be as enthralling as one H-D bike should be.

A perfect experience of a cruiser will be accommodated by both these machines with the state-of-the-art technology and innovations of the company. The company with the Street series will be able to grab the market shares of motorcycles like Honda CBR650F, Honda CBR500R, Hyosung GT 650N, Hyosung Gv650 Aquila Pro, etc.
Harley Davidson Street 750, being the cheapest H-D bike is designed a bit meshy, the cords in the bike tend to stay out of the place that does not appeals like a Harley machine. However, the design of the bike is quite appealing if one ignores the cons. To keep the built of the bike inexpensive, the manufacturer has put in MRF tyres instead of Michelin Scorcher Tyre. Braking system of the bike is only including 2-piston disc brake at both the ends. Tyre size of the front one is 100/80-17 52H and that of the rear one is 150/70-15 67H R15. The bike has 212kg of kerb weight with the wheelbase measurement of 1,535mm. The suspensions of the bike are front telescopic forks and rear hydraulic shock absorbers.

APPEARANCE

The cruiser look of Street 750 is maintained with the long wheelbase and the round headlight with the mask. The overall look of the machine is quite muscular and heavy with the new Revolution X engine and the attractive all black scheme. The two into one exhaust gives the bike more punch and sportiness. The bike also sports a analog plus digital instrumentation.

Harley Davidson Street 750 has an all new Revolution X engine that has the displacement of 749cc and has liquid-cooling. The engine is mated with the six-speed manual transmission and is tuned to churn-out the maximum torque of 60Nm at 4000rpm. The engine is the quite advance than the old V-twin engine that comes in V-Rod, the company has taken over a decade to craft this new generation mill. The combination of the engine and its muffler speaks a lot about the bike and this is what you can experience at its best in a Harley Davidson bike. With the two in one exhaust the power of the bike is heard from quite a distance. The company says that they have put in a rock-solid belt to transfer the energy by the engine to the wheels. They have also said it will have a lower maintenance cost too. The engine is quite smooth and performs its best on highways as well as on city roads. The bike has a 13.1 liter of fuel tank capacity that gives a rider about 260km of total run.

Harley Davidson Street 750 is the most inexpensive bike by the company that has been designed with 7-Spoke Cast Aluminum wheels with Machined Rim Highlights carrying 2-piston floated disc brakes. It keeps the cost of the bike at its minimum as well as gives a luxurious look too. The braking of the machine is quite responsive and quick that makes the control of the rider better. The cruiser style handlebar and the low seat hight leads to better handling. Better handling gives more confidence to the rider and with the fat rear tyres that improves the maneuverability, the rider experience a great quality ride. The heavy weight and length structure of the bike is quite problematic for every rider but riders still manage to master the ride because of the passion to ride.

Safety, which is a major element in all H-D bike seems to be missing in this machine as the company's high-end security system is not available in the bike. The safety of the rider is maintained with the incorporation of disc brakes at both the ends. The wider rear tyre also increases the rider's safety as it provides more grip on the surface and keeps the bike grounded.
