Most Popular Scooters Showcased at 2016 Auto Expo

Another episode of country’s biggest motoring show kick started on 5th of February for general public. As per the SIAM reports, the event witnessed around 1.12 Lac footfalls on the second day of the event and is expected to host around 9 lac people in total. Like its previous editions, the 13th edition of the Auto Expo has also seen the launch and showcasing of a large number of two-wheelers. Listed below are the scooters that are being displayed in the pavilion of their respective OEMs. 

1. Peugeot Speedfight

French automaker Peugeot has showcased its 125cc scooter called, the Speedfight during the ongoing Auto Expo. This trendy and the stylish scooter is powered by 124.8cc, a 4-stroke engine having mated to automatic transmission. The suspension system of the scooter comprises of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorber at the rear side. For the braking purposes, the scooter has been given 226mm disc up front and 210mm disc at the rear wheel. Both the brakes are linked to combined braking system.  Read More

2. Aprilia SR 150

Piaggio owned Aprilia has showcased a 150cc cross-over of motorcycle and scooter called, the SR 150. This stylish two-wheeler is designed to cater young riders who need sensation of sports bikes and the convenience of automatic scooters in their daily commute. The powerful and stylish crossover with its powerful 150cc engine, 14-inch big wheel and auto gears like motor scooters are set to carve out a new category in the Indian two-wheeler market. 3. TVS Dazz

Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS isn’t much behind and is showcasing its gearless moto-scooter, the Dazz, which was showcased in the previous edition as well. Dazz is already available in the international market but we aren’t sure when it will be launched in India. Powered by 109cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine that produces 8.34bhp at 7,500rpm and 8.3Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Other features of the scooter include tubeless tyres, charger socket, front disc brake and much more. Read More

4. Yamaha N-Max    

Yamaha’s pavilion at the Auto Expo has a maxi scooter named as N-Max on display. The scooter is powered by 155cc single cylinder mill using company’s Blue Core Technology. Its powerplant has 4-valve head and brings the power output of 15.28bhp and 14.4Nm that equivalent to any 150cc motorcycle. The company has kept the finger on its lips regarding its Indian launch and has showcased this powerful scooter just to understand how the people will react to this technically advanced scooter. If launched in India, it is expected to get the price of Rs. 80,000. Read More

5. Yamaha Fascino Special Edition

Yamaha has showcased upgraded version of its highest selling scooter Fascino during the ongoing Auto Expo in Greater Noida. First launched in mid-2015, the scooter in no time created a special niche for itself thanks to its classy modern styling and curvy looks.  This 110cc scooter produces around 7bhp and is available in 5 colours including - Cool Cobalt, Sassy Cyan, Rogue Red, Haute White and Tuxedo Black. The company hasn’t given any hints about the launch of the new version but is expected to get the price tag of Rs. 53,100 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Read More

6. Peugeot Django

Another impressive product from Peugeot being showcased at the Auto Expo is a 125cc scooter, the Django. Built on a classic theme, the scooter gets some impressive features like a transparent windscreen and dual toned colour scheme. The company remained silent about its Indian launch. The scooter gets its power from a 124.6cc, carbureted, 4-stroke, an air-cooled mill that has the ability to produce around 10bhp of power. It also gets 40mm hydraulic forks at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear end. Read More

7. 2016 Suzuki Access 125

Suzuki Motorcycles India has showcased the 2016 model of Access 125. The refreshed version receives lots of cosmetic updates and refreshed headlamp, side panels, tail lamp and indicator lamp. Moreover, the overall body of the scooter is now wrapped with more chrome and now has been offered with disc brake as an optional feature. With the updated Access 125, Suzuki is refreshing its product portfolio to compete well against the segment leader Activa 125. Read More

8. Mahindra Gusto 125

Mahindra has also showcased its 125cc scooter, the Gusto, which was unveiled last month. With the launch of Gusto 125, Mahindra will compete against the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. The scooter looks identical to its younger sibling in terms of appearance but gets enhanced power thanks to its new 125cc engine. Its 124.6cc engine is capable enough to produce 8.6bhp of power and 10Nm of torque. Read More

9. Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR

Yamaha India has started its journey of 2016 in India with the unveiling of the Cygnus Ray-ZR, the updated version of existing Ray-Z model. The scooter retains its 113cc engine but now it comes with company’s Blue Core Technology and get a new instrument console. The new Cygnus Ray-ZR is equipped with 21-litres of under seat storage space and the disc brake comes assisted with cast aluminium wheels. Read More

10. Hero Maestro Edge Facelift

Along with Electric Concept of Duet, the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero has also showcased the facelift of Maestro Edge. The new Maestro Edge features an all new paint scheme and employs 110.9cc, single-cylinder engine that produces around 8.31bhp and 8.3Nm. The scooter uses the in-house developed engine and comes with a starting price of Rs. 49,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Read More
