Either BMW Motorrad or Harley-Davidson India could be the way forward for Sumbly

After 5 years of dedicated service, Vimal Sumbly has resigned from his position as MD of Triumph Motorcycles India. The baton will be carried forward by Shoeb Farooq, who was handling Triumph India's sales and dealer development till date.

In the course of these five years, Vimal Sumbly successfully established the British brand in India by making Triumph Motorcycles one of the highest selling superbike makers in India.

During his 5 year stint at Triumph India, Vimal Sumbly brought in a range of exciting products from the Tiger and Bonneville ranges, not to forget the RS version from the Street Triple range. He even helped Triumph Motorcycles India strengthen its customer base by organising activities like Tiger Trails, Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and more.

Prior to joining Triumph, Sumbly worked with Bajaj Auto for around eight years. During that time, he played an active role in establishing KTM’s sales & service network across India. He even played a key role in the recently announced Bajaj-Triumph partnership.

While we are yet to receive information on which brand he intends to spearhead further, we can make an educated guess on Sumbly’s next destination. One is BMW Motorrad India, considering Vikram Pawah's recent departure from the company, while the other is Harley-Davidson India, which recently announced its renewed focus on the Indian and Asian market.
