Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Spotted Testing, Draws Inspiration From Interceptor 650

The bike looks near-production-ready and should be launched around mid-2021

The spied test mule sports a couple of news changes compared to the earlier bike.  It could be pegged against the Honda H’Ness CB350 May share some of its mechanicals like the engine, suspension and brakes with the Meteor 350.

The Hunter 350, which spawns from Royal Enfield’s ‘J’ platform, has been spotted testing yet again in India. However, this test mule looks a bit different from the one we’d seen a couple of months ago. It looks more finished as a product and seems to draw inspiration from the Interceptor 650.

This makes us believe that the Chennai-based manufacturer may be building a bike that’ll take on the H’Ness CB350. The exhaust is a single upswept end-can that looks similar to that of the Interceptor. Same goes for the tail lamp and winkers. The earlier traditional twin rear shock absorbers have also been swapped out for more premium gas-charged units. Overall, the spied test mule looks a lot more premium and could possibly be the top-spec variant -- something on the lines of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Supernova.

In terms of hardware, the Hunter will share some of its components with the Meteor 350. It will be powered by the same 349cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected, counterbalanced engine with an expected power output of 20.4PS and 27Nm. Its suspension setup may comprise of a telescopic fork, disc brakes at both ends, and 17-inch wheels rather than the 19-front 17-rear wheel configuration on the Meteor.

It’s bound to be high on features as well, just like all future models churned out from Royal Enfield. So we could expect to see the Tripper with turn by turn navigation. Expect Royal Enfield to launch the Hunter 350 by mid-2021 for around Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), which will position it below the standard H’Ness CB350. This may also put it up against the base Jawa Forty Two priced at Rs 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
