Jawa 42 2.1

Jawa has launched the 42 in a sporty Cosmic Carbon colour and the Jawa 42 Tawang edition.

The Jawa 42 2.1 is basically the Forty Two but draped in more youthful, sportier shades, alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, blacked out powertrain and underpinnings, and a few accessories including the flyscreen and headlight guard. 

Jawa 42 2.1 Price:

The Jawa 42 2.1 is available only in dual-channel ABS variant. Jawa offers the bike in Orion Red, Sirius White, and All Star Black, all priced at Rs 1,94,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is also available in Cosmic Carbon colour at Rs 1,95,142.

Jawa 42 2.1 Features:

Jawa has equipped the 42 2.1 with an offset semi-digital instrument cluster that contains an analogue speedometer and fuel gauge. The digital inset houses odometer and twin tripmeter readings. The bike also features a smoked windscreen, headlight grill, engine guard, grab rail, and accessory saddle bags. The switchgear has been redesigned, and gets controls for the two tripmeters. The seat cushion is denser, ensuring better comfort while touring. 

Jawa 42 2.1 Engine:

Powering the Jawa 42 2.1 is a 293cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine churning out 27.33PS and 27.02Nm, working in conjunction with a six-speed transmission. 

Jawa 42 2.1 Suspension & Brakes:

The biggest talking point in the Jawa 42 2.1 is its alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres. This setup should be able to handle punctures much better than the spoke wheels with tubed rubber in the regular 42. The bike gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. It also weighs the same at 172kg, making it one of the lightest in its segment. 

Jawa 42 2.1 Rivals:

The Jawa 42 2.1 goes up against the TVS Ronin, Metro variant of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Honda CB350RS, and the upcoming Triumph-Bajaj 350cc bike. Other alternatives in the same price bracket include the Royal Enfield Classic 350, KTM 200 Duke, Honda H’Ness CB350.
