Royal Enfield Himalayan was launched in India on 16th March, 2016 at a starting price of Rs. 1.55 lac (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The eagerly awaited bike post its launch in Mumbai was up for sale in dealerships across the country. However, at the last minute, in Delhi – NCR, the NGT banned the bike stating non-compliance with Bharat Stage IV emission norms. Besides Royal Enfield, Bajaj and Suzuki were also facing the same problem for the V15 and the New Access 125 respectively.

Finally, there is good news for customers in Delhi - NCR, wanting to buy any of these latest offerings.
