The Italian motorcycle manufacturer- Moto Guzzi are going to launch two new motorcycles- the V9 Roamer and the Bobber in India this year. The bikes were showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and are expected to enter the Indian market by the end of this year. Both these bikes have only been showcased but will soon be launched internationally. They are expected to come here via the CBU route and will compete with the Harley Davidson Iron 883 and the Triumph Street Twin.

Sources have told us that Stefano Pelle, Chief Executive Officer, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited was quoted saying, “Yes, they will also be brought to India as CBUs, most likely within this year. The Moto Guzzi V9 cruisers are not launched yet. Their global launch is scheduled within a few months time. The Moto Guzzi V9 is an all-new line up of motorcycles that are cruisers with light, nimble handling. They will be powered by the 850cc powertrain, which is considered to be a medium size engine. The V9 motorcycles will be positioned below the bigger Moto Guzzi models such as the California.”

Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer and Bobber are advanced, light-weight robust cruisers which are easy to handle. Powering the motorcycles is a new 853cc, transverse V-Twin engine that makes 54.25bhp at 6,250rpm and a peak torque of 61Nm at just 3,000rpm. The motor is fed by a Marelli electronic fuel injection system and it comes mated to a slick six-speed transmission. Both these motorcycle don’t use a conventional chain or belt drive but instead use a shaft drive to deliver its power.

Both the V9 models are based on one platform but their styling is unique. The V9 Roamer has a more classic design that incorporates all metal fabrication, a brat seat, lots of chrome and much more. On the other hand, the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber gets a dark custom paint scheme along with chopped fenders and wider tyres.
