Demand for the variant was very low compared to the disc variant

When Bajaj first launched the Pulsar 125 Neon in August this year, the bike was offered in two variants - disc and drum. Now, due to low demand for the drum brake variant, Bajaj seems to have quietly discontinued it. The company's website doesn't show any variants for this model, with only a single Pulsar 125 Neon being shown. The pricing for the bike is identical to the earlier price of the disc variant, and the drum variant has silently disappeared.

At the time of their launch, the drum variant was priced at Rs 64,000 while the disc variant sold for Rs 66,618. This reasonably small price gap between the two variants has led to most people opting for the disc brake variant. This is a positive trend since Indian buyers have actively shied away from disc brakes in the past due to the misconception that they are dangerous.

At the moment, Bajaj dealers have very little or no stock of the drum brake variant, and they aren’t receiving any from the manufacturer as well. The Pulsar 125 Neon is based on the Pulsar 150 Neon with the only difference being its 124cc motor. This air-cooled single-cylinder unit produces 12PS and 11Nm and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The rest of the bike is mechanically identical to the 150.
