Mahindra MOJO UT 300

The UT 300 tourer borrows the design cues from its sibling, Mojo XT 300, looks identical on multiple grounds but looses out on some of the plush elements from the standard Mojo like USD front forks, LED DRLs, Pirelli premium tyres, twin exhaust and gold accents. Considering it to be a cost-effective production model of the existing Mojo, it certainly has the character to grab attention. It features twin-pod headlamp upfront, a chiselled 21-litre fuel tank, a chrome-dipped redesigned exhaust with refined bass, a comfortable single seat unit, split section black rear grab rail, a fairly raised back and a stylish tail section with LED taillight. The bike also features an eye-catchy instrument console for necessary readouts; tachometer gets the analogue presentation while the rest of the information is displayed on the LCD screen in a digital format. The bike gets an upright riding position just like its sibling and the 17-inch black alloy wheels with tubeless MRF rubber in contrast to the XT 300 which has Pirelli Diable Rosso II tyres. The Mojo UT 300 is up for grab in two colors, blue and red, which make the bike look bold and adventure-ready.

Dimensionally, it is 15mm longer and 15mm lower than the standard Mojo, measuring 2115mm long, 800mm wide and 1150mm high. The ground clearance of the UT 300 sits at 165mm and the wheelbase at 1460mm as against the XT 300’s 173.5mm and 1465mm respectively.

On the mechanical front, the UT 300 is powered by the single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, carburetted 294.72cc engine that churns out a max power of 23.1PS at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 25.2Nm at 5,500rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission system. The fuel injection system has been ditched for a carburetted fuel system to cut down the cost and to make it a mass buy.

The new UT 300 has been built on the twin tube frame similar to the Mojo XT 300. However, riding the UT 300 won’t be same as the XT 300 due to the lack of USD front forks. The bike sports telescopic front fork with 143.5mm travel suspension and the high-pressure adjustable preload gas-charged mono shock absorbers with 135mm travel suspension at the back. On the braking front, it gets discs of diameter 320mm at the front and 240mm at the rear. The wheels of diameter 17-inches are shod with 110/70-17 and 140/70-17 section MRF tubeless tyres at the front and rear respectively. The combination of brakes and suspension looks ideal for Indian roads while the upright riding position is good enough to offer relaxed long-distance ride experience.

The safety department has features like disc braking mechanism for instant stop, MRF Zappers for adequate grip and the twin-pod headlamp for the brighter view of the road.
