KTM 125 Duke Highlights

KTM 125 Duke BS6 Highlights:

The 125 Duke stands as KTM's entry-level bike for the Indian two-wheeler market, a position formerly occupied by the 200 Duke. It's styled to mimic the previous-gen 200 Duke and gets similar features, mechanicals and a sophisticated liquid-cooled engine. The bike is available in three colour options: white, black and orange.

KTM 125 Duke BS6 Price:

KTM has hiked prices for its entire BS6 range. The KTM 125 Duke BS6 is now priced at Rs 1,42,265 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is a hike of Rs 4,223 over the previous asking price. More details here

KTM 125 Duke BS6 Features:

The 125 Duke features a full-digital instrument console with readouts like a gear position indicator, real-time fuel efficiency, average fuel efficiency, service indicator, distance-to-empty gauge, clock and a side-stand warning light. The bike also gets a shift indicator placed in the centre. Other notable features include an LED tail light and turn indicators, a USD fork, a radial caliper upfront and single-channel ABS.

KTM 125 Duke BS6 Engine:

The KTM 125 Duke is powered by a BS6-compliant 124.7cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which generates the same power and torque as before. It produces 14.5PS at 9,250rpm and 12Nm at 8000rpm. The motor continues to be paired with a 6-speed transmission.

KTM 125 Duke BS6 Suspension & Brakes:

The 125 Duke employs a trellis frame suspended on an upside-down fork and monoshock from WP. Its braking setup consists of a 300mm front disc clamped by a radially mounted caliper and a 230mm rear disc, with single-channel ABS as standard. The Austrian bike maker says the motorcycle’s weight has gone up only slightly from 141kg dry to 141.4kg in its BS6 form.

KTM 125 Duke BS6 BS6 Rivals:

The KTM 125 Duke doesn't have a direct rival. However, if you were to consider its price, it competes against the Yamaha MT-15, Yamaha YZF R15 V3, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the Ather 450X

The price is too much. Non-stylish looks and no comfort, no pickup, It is not my favorite bike in my life.

Being a 125, there’s only so much power you can extract, and it lacks the outright frantic nature that KTMs are known for. The sixth gear is tall, but there’s just no power if you need to quickly accelerate, demanding a couple of downshifts to get the engine back into the powerband. At 60kmph in 6th gear, the tacho hovers just above the 5000rpm mark, while 100kmph arrives a bit over 8000rpm. It takes its own time to crack the ton as the powerband fizzles out post 90kmph. In our test, the motorcycle reached a top-speed of 106.54kmph - a little over 3kmph more than the Honda CB Shine SP, which is not saying much. If you’re expecting KTM level of performance, then you need to look elsewhere. You may consider it for long rides only if you like calm riding. The engine feels smooth both in the city and on the highway, and this makes for a fatigue-free ride. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details. The ARAI claimed mileage of KTM Duke 125 is 34.59 km/l. However, the actual mileage totally depends on several factors like driving conditions, road conditions, tyre pressure, etc. In order to improve the mileage, we would suggest you ride slower. Riding fast can reduce your fuel efficiency by up to 33% if you are traveling above 60 mph. It is best to change gears appropriately and match the gear and the RPM carefully. Read More
