    Expert Review

    BikeDekho Experts
The KTM 125 Duke provides thrilling performance and sporty handling characteristics. It is the only bike in the segment with a liquid-cooled engine and gets the most advanced suspension setup. But for a price tag of Rs 1,78,892 ex-showroom, it is very expensive for a 125cc bike considering its rivals like the TVS Raider 125 and the Hero Xtreme 125R offers a well-rounded package with better features and more affordable price tags.

    Overview

The KTM 125 Duke promises to provide the full KTM experience of its bigger capacity siblings but in a package that is more accessible for first time riders. But is it worth considering for your next purchase in the highly-competitive sporty 125cc segment?

    Design

The KTM 125 Duke has the typical KTM design language that we are familiar with. It looks exactly like the KTM 200 Duke with the sharp design lines, exposed subframe and the tank extensions. The design still commands quite a presence on the road and the Electric Orange and Ceramic White colour schemes compliment it very well.

    Features

The KTM 125 Duke gets an LCD instrument console that displays the speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, fuel level, distance-to-empty and other regular readouts. It misses out on Bluetooth connectivity. The headlight is a halogen unit with LED DRLs, and the taillight and turn indicators are both LED units as well. While this is a decent list of features, it falls short when compared to the features some of the other sporty bikes in the 125cc segment get like the TVS Raider 125 and the Hero Xtreme 125R

    Riding Posture & Comfort

The 125cc Duke gets the most advanced suspension setup in its class: a 43mm WP inverted fork and a WP monoshock with 10-step preload adjustability. The setup is a bit on the stiffer side and while it aids in spirited riding through corners, you might feel a bit uncomfortable going over speed bumps and potholes. Also, the 822mm seat height might make riding the bike in everyday conditions an uncomfortable experience for shorter riders.

    Engine, Mileage & Performance

The 124.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 14.5PS at 9,250rpm and 12Nm at 8,000rpm has a linear power delivery and is very refined. It provides smooth acceleration, even till its redline which is over 10,000rpm. Even though it is a 125cc engine but being a KTM, you can reach speedometer indicated speeds of 105-106kmph without much stress.

    Handling & Ride Quality

The KTM 125 Duke’s chassis with split-trellis frame carried over from the KTM 200 Duke gives the 125cc streetfighter great handling characteristics. It is very agile and leans into corners very easily. It also remains quite stable through the corners and the chassis provides ample confidence to pick a line and come out of the corner without breaking a sweat. The agility also helps in navigating city traffic scenarios as well.

Should you buy KTM 125 Duke

The KTM 125 Duke does provide the full KTM experience of thrilling performance and sporty handling characteristics in a more accessible 125cc package. If you’ve ever wanted to own a KTM but the power and performance figures of its bigger capacity siblings seem a bit too much, then you can consider the KTM 125 Duke. Otherwise, because of the very expensive price tag (Rs 1,78,892 ex-showroom) for a 125cc bike and the lack of features compared to its rivals, you are better off with a TVS Raider 125 or a Hero Xtreme 125R.

      Pocket Dynamo
I got this bike back in 2019 when it was launched, I was beginner so my first choice was a bike with moderate power and torque and good ride comfort. So, I went through lot of options, FZ l, Apachi 160 and 200 , Classic 350 and Duke 200. I got my eye on FZ as it was very much beginner Friendly and it was pocket friendly too. I decided to book FZ but on the same day KTM dropped this Pocket Rocket duke 125 and obviously for me it was a show stopper, without any second thought I went through the specs sheet and boy oh boy it felt just like a match made from heaven. I went to showroom the very next morning and just booked my duke 125 and after a month I got the delivery and till after after 7 long years, I have regretted for one single day. Good quality and best feeling riding this Pocket Rocket. Total in 7 year's, I have rode 51,000 kms on odo where I have only used it for ride propose and not for commute purpose. The best thing about this is the ride comfort because of the posture and ride quality. I have done Pune - hyderabad - Pune in 24 hrs with 4 hrs of sleep. I have rode on different terrains and in every seasons and it has never disappointed me in any given situation. I love riding it everyday with or without luggage. It feels fun to ride. Of course, I recommend it to every college boy with no riding experience to start their journey with this bike as it offers good amount of power and torque and would help you to be a good and safe rider with it's features. It will fall you in love with the motorcycle world and also take you to the places you thought of riding once in your collage days. It also offer mileage of 40 kmpl which is also good as a beginner. It will help you understand many concepts of motorcycle rider which will help you in future when you upgrade to a high cc.

Duke 125cc is the sharp handlling for riders, offering a premium, agile city ride with sharp great look and refined performance first class like a big bike in small package though its engines feel under powered on road KTM Duke 125 cc is highly recommended as a premium, Stylish beginner bike for city commuting ktm feel worth decent power for it class but is main drawbacks are higher price for 125cc ktm bike is comfortable for city ride

      Dream ....
A bike with a high-quality engine, good suspension, and a usable pillion seat. One reviewer says the plastics are better quality than many other motorcycles.A good entry-level sportbike with a sporty design, good handling, and strong performance. However, it may not be comfortable for long rides, and it lacks advanced features like riding modes and traction control.
