We have already ridden the Aprilia SR150 and it delivers exactly the fun that we were expecting from this scooter.
Claimed as India's first crossover ‘sport-scooterbike’ by the company, the Aprilia SR150 is going to be launched on August 22, 2016. The scooter has been priced at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom) which will be the introductory price only and its bookings were already started more than a week ago. We recently rode the scooter at its media ride event and we can say that it delivers what we were expecting from it.
Unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Aprilia SR150 Italian brings the spirit of the great Aprilia Supermotard in the SR family of sports scooters. Adding enjoyment and a dash of sporty excitement to daily commuting, the scooter comes with the fun of riding a sportbike along with the comfort and convenience of a scooter.
Powered by a 155cc, 3-valve, OHC engine with variable spark timing management, the scooter delivers a great punch of performance. With a carburettor-type fuel system, the motor makes 11.6PS of power at 7,000rpm and delivers a peak torque of 11.5Nm at 5,500rpm. The large 14" alloy wheels of the scooter draw design from the Aprilia supersport bikes and comes with grippy 120/70 section tyres to provide the confidence of a sportbike.
Braking duties on the Aprilia SR150 are handled by a 140mm rear drum brake and a 220mm disc brake up front, which ensures the ride is as safe as it is thrilling. The telescopic front forks and single rear shock absorber both come with maximum suspension travel to tackle various road surfaces. As for convenience features, the scooter gets retractable front bag hook, ample storage under the seat and provision for USB connector to charge your mobile on the go.
Looking at the features the company is introducing the SR150 with, it as a great option for buyers who want to buy a motorcycle for fun but also want the convenience that comes with the scooters. Also, the relatively affordable introductory price makes it a steal for early buyers.
