It looks muscular and aggressive and definitely has the means to take on the Ninja 400
Aprilia has taken the wraps off its all-new 457cc supersport, the RS 457 and it is coming to India very soon!
Highlights of the bike:
- 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine producing 48PS
- 6-speed gearbox with quickshifter
- Twin-spar aluminium frame and steel swingarm
- Underbelly exhaust
- 41mm upside-down (USD) fork (120mm wheel travel) and monoshock (130mm wheel travel) suspension setup with preload adjustability for both
- 320mm front disc with a 4-piston radial caliper and 220mm rear disc brake setup with dual-channel ABS
- 110/70 (front) and 150/60 (rear) TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres with 17-inch wheels
- Kerb weight: 175kg, 7kg heavier than the Kawasaki Ninja 400
- Ride-by-wire system
- Three levels of traction control that can be turned off
- Quickshifter available as an accessory
- 5-inch TFT instrument console
It looks muscular and aggressive and the twin-LED headlight setup is reminiscent of the RS660’s design. It will likely be launched in India somewhere around the MotoGP Grand Prix of India weekend (September 22-24). The all-new Aprilia RS 457 is expected to fetch a price tag of Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.

- Aprilia RS 457 Ownership ReviewIt is the best choice for a budget super sport bike and looks aggressive with a lot of torque and power. The twin cylinder engine is very tractable and the overall ride experience is fun! Definitely a head turner. The bike is very smooth and the engine is very responsive. The posture is a bit demanding so would avoid in traffic jams and long rides. The power is just amazing, a twist of the throttle and before you know it you are reaching triple digit speeds. This is a pure red bike and would only suggest it to those who are genuinely in need of the power upgrade and will ride the bike the way it is meant to.
