Upcoming Ather Rizta To Have The Biggest Seat Amongst All Indian Scooters

Ather’s CEO Mr Tarun Mehta compares Rizta’s seat directly alongside the seats of what we believe are the Ola S1 Pro and Activa 6G
Ather’s upcoming family scooter, the Rizta, has created a lot of buzz since it was spotted testing earlier with a very interesting wrap that featured an animated family portrait on it. Recently, Ather’s CEO, Tarun Mehta, uploaded a picture on his X handle (formerly Twitter) comparing the Rizta’s seat with those on the Ola S1 Pro and Honda Activa 6G. Mehta also claimed that the Rizta will have the biggest seat in the scooter market.
The Ather CEO shared an image comparing the Rizta’s seat side by side with a leading electric scooter, and though he didn’t mention the name, we figured out that it was the Ola S1 Pro’s seat, which is sufficiently long and pretty broad. However, the Rizta’s seat is noticeably bigger in dimensions: it is longer than the S1 Pro, with a pointed front and wider at the rear. The width of the seat, however, looks to be of similar width to the S1 Pro’s.

Just hours later, the Ather CEO shared another picture comparing the Rizta’s seat size, this time alongside a “market-leading petrol scooter’s seat”, which we figure to be the Honda Activa 6G’s. The Rizta’s seat, when placed side by side, does look longer and wider than the Activa 6G’s.
The Ather Rizta will have a boxy design similar to the TVS iQube. Apart from the spacious seat, the family scooter will come with large grab handles and a generously sized floorboard. Fitted with the same wheels as the 450X, it is likely to come with a foldable pillion footrest too. Expect it to match the Ather 450S's 2.9kWh battery and 115km range certified range, though it may also get a longer-range option later.
It is also likely to get an LCD console with smartphone connectivity and riding modes.
The Ather Rizta is likely to debut in late 2024 or early 2025 with a price tag of around Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom, including FAME 2 subsidy). It will rival the likes of the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 Pro.
