For the last few months, online shopping portals are foraying into the automotive market to sell two wheelers. A new entrant in this area is Flipkart, They are making a new interface on their website to sell two-wheelers and will be offering motorbikes from auto manufacturers like BajajKTM, and Kawasaki. The motorcycles of all the three brands are available online in Bangalore only. Interested customers will be able to browse the products of any of these companies and book their desired bike online easily with an initial payment of Rs 3,000 to Flipkart. Once the booking amount transaction has been completed by the customers, the e-commerce website will share the details of the customer with the dealership. The e-commerce website will also provide the on-road price of the desired model.

For offering this new feature on its website, the e-commerce giant has contracted with Khivraj Motors, an authorized dealer for Bajaj, KTM and Kawasaki motorcycles in Bangalore. Flipkart will only manage the initial token amount and the rest of the formalities that include pending documentation, balance amount, financing and other formalities involved for purchasing the two-wheeler will be managed by the dealership. The final payment and remaining documentation process will have to be completed within eight days after a person has deposited the initial token amount. The dealer can also organize a test ride for the customers if needed. Also, once the customer has completed the formalities and has made the full payment to the dealer, the order cannot be cancelled.

Nowadays, the online shopping culture is gaining popularity in our country. Even before Flipkart started this facility, Hero MotoCorp and Suzuki had begun selling their bikes through Snapdeal and Hero MotoCorp sold more than 3,00,000 units so far through this portal.
