Booking Commences for 2016 Triumph Street Twin in India

Triumph Motorcycles India has started accepting booking for its most affordable bike – the 2016 Street Twin. Few weeks ago, the motorcycle was revealed along with Bonneville’s new range. The bookings have started at dealerships in Delhi and Mumbai with an initial amount Rs 1 lac and the deliveries are expected to start in April 2016 after its launch in the country. However, the British manufacturer has not revealed official launch date yet, but it is expected that the motorcycle will be showcased in the 2016 Auto Expo. The Triumph Street Twin will be imported in India as a completely-knocked-down (CKD) unit.

The manufacturer has already revealed the pricing of 2016 Street Twin in the United Kingdom at Rs. 7.34 lac and In India, it is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs. 7 lac.  The company also unveiled its engine specifications and it will be powered by a 900cc engine that claims to produce 54bhp of maximum power at 5,900rpm and a peak torque of 80Nm at just 3,200rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission.

The Street twin is designed beautifully and is inspired by the new wave custom that flaunts overall youthful look. The bike receives all Black engine casing, an up-swept exhaust system, and cast wheels. It also gets some advanced features that include a traction control system with ride-by-wire technology that delivers smooth acceleration and better fuel economy. The manufacturer has also retuned chassis and suspension unit that provides dynamic handling and engaging riding experience for the rider and pillion.  Furthermore, the bike is equipped with an under seat USB socket, ABS system, LED tail lamp and engine immobilizer that upgrades its value.
