The well renowned name in the automobile industry, Bajaj is soon to disappear from the group flagship company's products as the Managing Director of Bajaj have decided to drop the family name. The change is to be seen with country's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer after a three-way split of it that took place around four years ago. The company is successful enough with its most famous and ever favourite of Indian customers, Bajaj Pulsar and Bajaj Discover, the sport bikes which will soon be known as just Pulsar and Discover. The pride name of Bajaj is to be removed of all the products, service centres and showrooms as per the company's plans.

The decision have been taken by the Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj's elder son, Rahul Bajaj, Chairman of the company. Definitely first by an Indian Automative, the idea is not too different from those used by some of the fast moving consumer goods like Hindustan Unilever, ITC or Procter & Gamble. The slogan as well of the company from
“Hamara Bajaj” would become “Hamara Pulsar” or “Hamara Discover”.

As per the statements of Rajiv Bajaj, it is known that the process of withdrawing the name “Bajaj” is already started as it is nowadays seen only on the engine of Pulsar and Discover. Also the concept works as the two motor bikes of the company are famous enough that they do not need the name “Bajaj” to stimulate their sales. A total market cap of Rs. 37,800 crores is held by the company and is surely to increase all the more in coming years.
