KTM used to be well-known for its value-for-money offerings. But now, the brand seems to be losing its sheen due to substantial price hikes over the years. The KTM 390 Duke, in particular, seems to have gotten a little too expensive considering it witnessed a massive price hike of Rs 8,517 just last month. And now, it costs almost Rs 800 more than the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is a full-fledged parallel-twin 650cc motorcycle.

Though Husqvarna has always been a niche brand, Bajaj Auto wanted the Swedish company to have an easier entry into our cost-conscious market. Hence, they came up with an introductory pricing scheme for its first quarter-litre twins. The two bikes were priced at Rs 1.80 lakh at launch. After close to a year, they’ve become dearer by almost Rs 10,000, which is still reasonable for their class. In a related development, Hero MotoCorp too has increased the prices of its popular Splendor and HF Deluxe range. You can check out the latest price list here.
