    Expert Review

    BikeDekho Experts
The KTM RC 125 is an interesting motorcycle and the only 125cc supersport. The bike will mostly only be suitable for riders who are looking for a motorcycle that isn’t too intimidating in terms of performance but can also provide the big bike feel in terms of handling and looks.

    Overview

The KTM RC 125 is the smallest capacity supersport offering from the Austrian bikemaker. The RC 125 is a 125cc motorcycle but it doesn’t look any different from its larger siblings, the KTM RC 390 and RC 200. Here's how it performs in the real world:

    Design

The KTM RC 125 comes with a supersport design that is in line with what we have seen on the KTM RC 390 and RC 200. At the front, the bike features an LED headlight and DRL setup combined with boomerang shaped indicators that are integrated into the fairing. On the side, it features  sharp styling and overall has that big bike look and feel.

The best thing is that if you wanted the bigger RC motorcycles, but were on a tight budget, then at least in terms of looks, the RC 125 gives you that feel.

    Features

The RC 125 has an LCD instrument console similar to the RC 200. It gives useful information and readouts such as speed, tachometer readings, fuel levels, trip details along with real time readouts like average mileage and distance to empty. The instrument console is quite basic but does provide good visibility under all lighting conditions.

    Riding Posture & Comfort

When compared to the previous version, the current RC 125 is a bit more road oriented and this has toned down the level of aggressiveness that was present earlier, making the riding posture a bit upright and comfortable. The seat is also well cushioned and doesn’t come off as either too hard or too soft, making it ideal for both short commutes and long trips.

    Engine, Mileage & Performance

Powering the KTM RC 125 is a 125cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 14.2PS and 12Nm. The engine is true to the KTM nature and likes to be revved out, it is also well refined going by KTM standards. The motor is one of the most potent ones in the 125cc segment, offering ample performance. The 2nd generation update has brought some changes to the airbox and radiator and now the bike is able to provide more torque when compared to the first gen RC 125.

    Handling & Ride Quality

The RC 125 is an aggressive supersport and the bike’s overall design and build is meant to maximize that character. The bike is quite agile and nimble, which means it handles really well, but most importantly it loves to hit the corners.

The 43mm WP Apex fork at the front and 10-step preload-adjustable monoshock are able to absorb most bumps and potholes without much trouble but the supersport nature of the bike can make riding over bad roads an uncomfortable experience. Even then the monoshock offers a great degree of adjustability and allows the rider to change the suspension’s nature according to their liking. With firmer settings being ideal for track and a softer one for the roads.

Should you buy KTM RC 125

The RC 125 is currently the only 125cc supersport offering in India, it has aggressive styling and look that one would associate with larger capacity bikes. The performance is not that great but it will make for a good beginner bike that riders can hone their skills on.

The KTM RC 125 is best suited for young riders or beginners seeking a premium-looking, sporty bike for city use and occasional spirited riding. Solid build quality and premium aesthetics stand the test of time. Offers good mileage considering its sporty nature. Minimal major breakdowns with regular maintenance.

KTM RC 125 is only for the younger generation
KTM RC 125 is giving a lot of issues and a very rough running sound is produced. It is very good looking bike. Its fuel cost is quite high. So most of the people especially those from the middle class have not purchased the bike. It’s not possible to ride this bike in muddy water in a village. It can carry only two persons. This bike is only for the younger generation in contemporary society.

      Elegant design and sporty appearance
KTM RC 125 is an astonishing bike which provides lots of joy in riding. I have been using this bike for few months now and I must say I am impressed. The first thing that I was fascinated with was the elegant design and sporty appearance of the bike. The 125cc engine is like a tiger that roars with great acceleration and top speed ideal for commuting and long driving. The seat as well is nice and offers good comfort for long rides, thus, there is a limit to the distance one can ride using the bike.

An attractive performer to attract the youth
The KTM RC 125 may seem expensive if you look only at its bulging shape, but it has a great body and excellent underpinnings. These make it a great bike on the circuit, but you won't like it very quickly. My main dream is that it looks more attractive than other bikes and its versatility is an attractive performer to attract the youth.

      Enjoy sporty riding with RC125
The KTM RC 125 arrived in Indore not too long back. Those that enjoy sporty riding will find this bike ideal. Comfortable to ride, the design is bold and sleek. There is good handling and respectable power from the 124.7cc engine. I took my buddies for a city tour last Sunday. Everybody appreciated the bike when we stopped at a few cafés. Riding in the city is especially great joy. The KTM RC 125 is a terrific option if you want a speedy and fashionable bike

KTM RC 125 is really catching my eye
Alright, so the KTM RC 125 is really catching my eye, yaar! It resembles a race bike that I could only imagine. It's difficult not to fall in love with the design because it's so stylish and athletic! For all the extras you receive, the on-road price is fair, and the mileage is decent. It's like having a piece of the song to yourself because of how awesome the color possibilities are!

      Racing DNA for Beginners
My brother owned this model few months before. The KTM RC 125 is a great little bike for city riding. I get mileage around 40-50 kilometers per liter, which is pretty good for a city bike. It accelerates quickly and zips through traffic easily. The seat is a bit firm, so keep that in mind. Riding the RC 125 is a blast. It's easy to handle, perfect for handling city streets. The price is decent for a sporty 125cc bike.

    KTM RC 125 Latest Updates

KTM has announced an extended warranty across their lineup along with 1 year free roadside assistance.

KTM RC 125 is an entry-level sports bike with a race-inspired design for street and track. The next-gen KTM RC 125 was spied testing earlier this year in Europe and is expected to be launched in India within the next couple of years.

    KTM RC 125 Price:

The KTM RC 125 is the most affordable bike in the RC range, available in a single standard variant and with two colour options: Silver and Black. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 1. 90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is a nominal increase of Rs. 900 from the previous version.

    KTM RC 125 Features:

The RC 125 features an LCD instrument providing useful information on the trip details, real-time mileage, average speed, rpm, distance to empty, gear position, etc.

    KTM RC 125 Engine:

    The KTM RC 125 comes with a 124. 7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC fuel-injection engine, producing 14. 5PS @9250rpm and 12Nm torque at 8000rpm. The powertrain is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

KTM RC 125 Suspension, Brakes & Other Details:

The KTM RC 125 gets a tubular split-trellis frame, with a 43mm WP APEX USD fork suspension at the front and a 10-step pre-load adjustable WP APEX mono-shock at the rear. The braking mechanism consists of a 320mm disc with a radial calliper at the front and a 230mm disc with a floating calliper setup at the rear.

    KTM RC 125 Rivals:

The KTM RC 125 is an expensive bike in its class and does not have a direct competitor as far as engine specs are concerned. However, in terms of close pricing and a more powerful engine, Yamaha R15 V4, Hero Karizma XMR, Yamaha MT15, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and Yamaha R15S are some viable alternatives.
