The Swedish motorcycle is likely to make its debut in July next year

Bajaj has got us on the hook with new spy shots and details of the new generation KTM 390 Duke coming in almost every other day. And now what we have are clear spy shots of its Swedish cousin, the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 in production-ready guise. The bike was spotted earlier with heavy camouflage and here are the details. However, this time around, it appears the bike is parked at Bajaj’s auto plant in Chakan near Pune.

Compared to the one spotted here earlier, the latest test mule hints more at a roadster styling than a scrambler one. The handlebar is flatter, the switchgear also appears to be new. The footpeg is still rear-set though. More importantly, the test mule comes with an adjustable WP inverted fork and monoshock setup, similar to the 390 Duke, and gets new alloys wrapped in Metzeler road-biased tyres instead of spoke rims with block pattern units.

While the overall design looks clean, the massive pillion grab rail sticks out like a sore thumb. As for the powertrain, it will share the 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with the next-gen KTM 390 Duke. That should ensure better performance as well as superior refinement.

Currently, Bajaj only offers the 250cc Husqvarna range, and the 401s, when launched, will be for the first time in the Indian market. With such comprehensive updates, Husqvarna should be able to garner better traction in the market.
