Husqvarna Svartpilen Highlights
Husqvarna has showcased the MY2020 Svartpilen 401 at EICMA. Besides new colours and updated graphics, the Svartpilen gets a 40mm longer subframe and a larger rear seat. The motor and powertrain remain unchanged.
A new variant of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 was spotted testing on Indian roads, looking almost production-ready. It gets a couple of cosmetic and mechanical changes over the international-spec model. For instance, the rear turn indicators are now mounted on a tail tidy kit instead of on the tyre hugger. The spoked wheels have been replaced by alloys while its tyres are most likely to be from MRF to keep costs in check. Its exhaust which appears to be slightly different compared to the previously spied test bike hints at a BS6-compliant model. The Scrambler also features a saree guard.
Powering the Svartpilen 401 is the same 373.3cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that’s seen on the KTM 390 Duke. As a result, it’s likely to produce 43.5PS of power and 37Nm of torque. On the mechanical front, the bike employs a steel trellis frame suspended upon WP 43mm USD forks and a WP monoshock. Anchoring the bike are disc brakes at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is expected to launch by mid-2020 alongside the Vitpilen 401. Expect the scrambler to be priced around Rs 3.1 lakh to Rs 3.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Dealerships have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the bike.
