Brixton Crossfire 500

Brixton Motorcycles has launched the Crossfire 500 and Cromwell 1200 series motorcycles in India.

Brixton Motorcycles is a part of the KSR Group from Austria and has launched the Crossfire 500 motorcycle in India. They have partnered with KAW Veloce Motorcycles Pvt Ltd and have set up a production facility in Kolhapur.

Brixton Crossfire 500 is priced from Rs 4,74,100 for the base X variant and from Rs 5,19,400 for the top XC variant (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

How many variants does the Crossfire 500 have?

The Crossfire 500 comes in two variants: X and XC. Crossfire X is a roadster while the Crossfire XC is a scrambler. The X gets 17-inch spoke wheels with 120/70-17 tyre at the front and a 160/60-17 tyre at the rear. While the XC gets a 19/17-inch tubeless spoke wheels setup with a 110/80-19 tyre at the front and a 150/60-17 at the rear. The X gets road-biased tyres while the XC gets knobby dual-purpose tyres to be better at off-roading. The X gets a telescopic fork while the XC gets a fully adjustable telescopic fork. As for the rear, the X gets a non-adjustable monoshock while the XC gets a preload and rebound adjustable monoshock. The XC has 150mm wheel travel at the front and 130mm at the rear. The Crossfire 500 X has a seat height of 795mm while its 839mm on the XC. The XC gets a raised handlebar which makes the posture upright and makes it easy to reach the handle while standing up during off-road riding. .

The Crossfire 500 comes in three colour options: Bullet Silver and Backstage Black for the X, while the XC gets a Desert Gold colour scheme.  

What are the specifications of the Crossfire 500?

Both variants of the Crossfire 500 are powered by a 486cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine which makes 47PS at 8,500rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Brixton claims the Crossfire 500 mileage will be 25kmpl, and it has  a claimed top-speed of 160kmph.  

What are the underpinnings of the Crossfire 500?

Both the variants of the Crossfire 500 get the same set of brakes – a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. Suspension on the X variant includes a non-adjustable telescopic fork and a monoshock, while the XC variant gets fully adjustable fork and, preload and rebound-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The fuel tank capacity is 13. 5 litres. The X variant rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends and gets a 120 section tyre at the front and a 160 section tyre at the rear. The XC gets a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear tubeless spoke wheels. Tyre size is rated at 110 section at the front and 150 section at the rear.

The feature list on the Crossfire 500 is quite small as it gets an LCD instrument console, LED lights all-round and dual-channel ABS. The Crossfire 500 also gets adjustable brake and clutch levers.
