The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is currently offered in a single variant that is fully loaded with all features and electronics. Unlike its smaller sibling, the Svartpilen 250, the 401 gets a longer seat, larger fuel tank, and more sophisticated hardware, making it more touring and off-road friendly.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 Design
The Svartpilen 401 fuses retro styling cues with modern details. It features a round LED headlight with a surrounding DRL, a compact windscreen, and has minimalist bodywork. The tank is sculpted sharply, gets a long split seat setup and is quite accommodating, while the rear end is tidy and modern with an integrated LED tail-light and a distinctive number plate holder.

The bike is powered by a 398.63cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This powerplant generates 46PS and 39Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine also benefits from ride-by-wire tech and a bidirectional quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts.

The Svartpilen 401 is equipped with a 5-inch TFT console that offers smartphone connectivity. It also gets a Type-C charging port as standard. For rider safety, the bike gets traction control, a slipper clutch, a bidirectional quickshifter, and a 4-way menu switch setup on the handlebar. It also comes with LED lighting all around.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 Chassis, Brakes, Wheels, Suspension
The Husqvarna 401 is built on a steel trellis frame and has a lightweight aluminium swingarm. It comes with a 43mm WP Apex adjustable inverted front fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front and 240mm rear Bybre disc setup, backed by Bosch switchable dual-channel ABS. The scrambler rolls on 17-inch wire-spoked wheels with block-pattern Apollo Tramplr XR tube tyres (110-section front, 150-section rear). At 820mm, the seat height is approachable, while the 177mm ground clearance is quite decent. The kerb weight stands at 171.2kg.
