Best Cruiser Motorcycles Under Rs 2 lakh

The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 is the most affordable cruiser you can buy in India currently. It shares its styling and underpinnings with the larger Avenger Street 220 but gets a smaller 160cc air-cooled motor. This BS6-compliant fuel-injected motor delivers 15PS and 13.7Nm.

Bajaj used to offer the Avenger 220 in two variants: Street and Cruise. While the Street has a more roadster look with blacked-out elements and alloy wheels, the Cruise gets lots of chrome, a large windshield and spoke wheels. Currently only the Avenger 220 Cruise is available on sale and it’s the most premium cruiser bike from Bajaj. It’s powered by a 220cc air and oil-cooled fuel-injected motor that delivers 19PS and 17.5Nm.

The Suzuki Intruder BS6 has a polarising design. You’ll either like it or you won’t. Keeping styling aside, the Suzuki Intruder offers a comfortable riding posture and has one of the best handling dynamics among cruisers that are on sale in India. Being a Japanese product it comes with an added assurance of quality and reliability. It’s powered by a 155cc fuel-injected motor that delivers 13,6PS and 13.8Nm. Underpinnings include a telescopic front fork, a monoshock at the rear and disc brakes on both ends aided by single-channel ABS.

Touring and Royal Enfield are synonymous with each other and what better way to tour our beautiful country than on a cruiser. Royal Enfield has replaced the Thunderbird series with the new Meteor 350. The RE Meteor 350 is the first offering from the iconic brand to feature a new 350cc motor and all-new chassis. The motor is rated at 20.4PS at 6,100rpm and 27Nm at 4,000rpm, working in conjunction with a 5-speed transmission.The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with smartphone compatibility. The secondary pod houses a TFT display for the turn-by-turn navigation, which is a first for a Royal Enfield.

TVS showcased the Zeppelin cruiser concept at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Zeppelin gets power cruiser styling similar to the Ducati Diavel. Apart from modern features like LED lighting, the concept came with an inbuilt HD camera in the headlamp and a bio key which uses your fingerprint to start the motorcycle. It had a 220cc motor made by boring out the 200cc mill from the Apache RTR 200 4V. It delivers 20PS and 18.5Nm, figures similar to the Apache RTR 200. The concept featured an E-Boost function which, at the touch of a button, offered additional torque via an electric motor. The TVS Zeppelin is slated for launch this year. However, it could get delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With action in the cruiser space heating up, Suzuki plans to expand the Intruder by riding in the new Intruder 250. The new Suzuki 250cc cruiser will be based on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 platform and will share underpinnings with the naked bike. The styling is expected to be similar to the INtruder 155, however we expect proportions to be better on the Intruder 250. POwering it will be the same 249cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine that runs the Gixxer 250 and the SF 250. In its current state of tune, the motor generates 26.5PS at 9300rpm and 22.2Nm at 7300rpm, mated to a 6-speed transmission.
