About Bajaj Avenger Street 180
Bajaj Auto has released a promotional image of the Avenger Street 180 ABS hinting at a launch in the near future. The upcoming bike is expected to get a single-channel ABS setup like its larger cousins, the Avenger Cruise 220 and Avenger Street 220. The new bike is expected to cost around Rs 6800 more than its current non-ABS version and is expected to be launched by next month.
Bajaj launched the Avenger Street 180 in 2018 with a price tag of Rs 87,827 (ex-showroom Delhi). It replaced the Street 150 and is powered by a new 180cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 15.5PS of power and 13.7Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It gets telescopic forks at the front and twin-shock absorbers at the rear. Meanwhile, braking duties are handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the rear. As for features, it gets LED DRLs and an analogue single-pod console which houses the speedometer and odometer. Cosmetic updates include new body graphics and colours. The Street 180 gets an all-black theme which makes it look quite sporty.

Avenger Street 180 Expert Review
The Avenger Street 180 is an entry-level cruiser that carries a classical design. Its dark colour scheme is pleasing to eyes while the revisions done to its front and graphics make it up for its refreshed look quite brilliantly. The dynamics of the bike look more than capable to take on the existing market player, the Suzuki Intruder 150. Bajaj has kept the pricing of the cruiser in check which may prove to be a game-changer and of course in favour of the brand. The suspension assembly of a telescopic fork at the front and twin shocks at the back are competent to offer comfortable riding experience. The seat on the new Street 180 has been revised for better comfort and stress-free long journeys. The seat design has been borrowed from the Avenger Cruise 220 though. The 2018 Street 180 seems to have ticked all the essential boxes to impress the crowd expect one and that is ABS. It is certainly disappointing for us as well as for the bike enthusiasts. Overall, the cruiser looks bold and capable to take on the Indian roads, with a new 180cc motor, front disc and rear drum braking setup and stylish looks.
Design
Design of the Avenger Street 180 looks just perfect. It has the cruiser-like feel and professional stance that complement its dark theme. The components dipped in black (alloys, engine, rear grab rail, seat, translucent visor, crankcase and exhaust) add to its dynamism. Bajaj has added new graphics to the panels that significantly improve looks. The combination of a conventional round headlamp up-front and a single-pod instrument cluster makes it classical yet astonishing looking road machine. The black exhaust gets a matte finish which is covered by the aluminium shield to protect the pillion’s foot from the heated exhaust. The rubberized grab rail at the rear adds to the comfort of the pillion especially when the day is booked for a long ride. The spoked alloy wheels are eye-catchy with a silver pinstripe. Both the new colours are appealing, red and black. The black is more dominating while the red is more on an energetic side.
Dimensionally, the 2018 Street 180 measures 2210mm long, 806mm wide and 1070mm high. The ground clearance of the bike sits at 169mm and the wheelbase at 1480mm.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Powering the new Bajaj cruiser, Avenger Street 180, is the DTS-i single-cylinder, the air-cooled 180cc engine that produces max power and peak torque figures as 15.5PS at 8,500 rpm and 13.7Nm at 6,500rpm respectively. The Avenger Street 180 gets a 5-speed transmission system that supplies power to the wheels.
Handling & Ride Quality
The 2018 Avenger Street 180 is fitted with a suspension assembly that is ideal for cruiser motorcycles. It rides on conventional telescopic anti-friction front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It’ll be easy for the Street 180 to bypass the rough chores and unexpected bumps on the Indian roads. This means the ride quality will be good and more than satisfactory. Its long wheelbase of 1480mm and the kerb weight of 150Kg will aid in keeping it still and stable over varied terrains. The long wheelbase will ask for some riding skills to manoeuvre it through traffic-ridden streets due to the increased turning radius. However, on highways, it will be a treat to rejoice over and over again. On the braking front, the 17-inch front wheel gets a 260mm disc brake while the rear 15-inch alloy wheel has a 130mm drum brake. The front wheel is wrapped inside a 90/90 section tubeless tyre and the rear is covered by 130/90 section tubeless tyre.
Features
To provide the rider with the much-needed confidence, Bajaj offers Avenger Street 180 with front disc and rear drum brakes setup. The tubeless Eurogrip tyres in combination with the fitted brakes provide significant support to the rider.
