Yamaha Sets New Spare Parts Centre Worth Rs. 580 Million

Yamaha has just invested Rs 580 million in setting up a new spare parts centre in Tamil Nadu which is spread over 30,000 square metres.

 

India Yamaha Motor has inaugurated a new spare parts centre in the premises of its plant in Tamil Nadu. The company has invested a total of INR 58 crore to set-up this 30,000 sqm spare parts centre. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of the company officials, Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co. India Ltd., Transystem Logistic International Pvt. Ltd. and other business associates as well as Top Management members of Yamaha Motor India Group Cos.

At the inauguration of the new parts centre, Hiroaki Fujita, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies (YMI-G) said, “In the present industry scenario, customer satisfaction is the key to sustenance & growth. Timely supply of genuine spare parts to the customers is the key to success. Our main objective behind the establishment of the new Parts Centre is to cater to the demands of the consumers in South India with Speed, and Quality.”

 

Takashi Terabayashi, Managing Director, IYM said, “The new Centre will play a significant role for achieving IYM Goals. It will contribute to the IYM Profit by strengthening the business foundation and supply chain management operation. The new Centre will support Yamaha business by ensuring smooth supply of quality spare parts in South India as well as other parts of the country and contribute to the achievement of business expansion plans.”

Yamaha is targeting to ship out spare parts from the new centre by the very next day of receiving orders. It will result in 5 per cent more supply ratio as compared to that of the Bangalore warehouse, which has been discontinued now. The company believes that speedy and continuous parts supply is an essential part of the customer satisfaction and the new centre will help them to achieve the same. Yamaha is also aiming to maintain an optimum spare parts inventory at Surajpur along with the new Chennai centre for maintaining quality standards, keep costs in check and reduce lead time. 

At present, IYM has 20 spare parts distributors across 15 states and more than 3,000 spare parts retailers across the country for the supply of genuine spare parts to the dealers and customers.
