Family electric scooters, ADVs and more, here’s what we expect in April 2024
March certainly was an eventful month and we got to see some interesting launches and updates. But now that March is out of the way and April is here, let us take a look at the bikes and scooters we believe will be coming to India this month.
Ather Rizta
Ather Energy has been in the news a lot thanks to the multiple teasers of the Ather Rizta electric scooter that the brand has been putting out, and now the pre-bookings for the e-scooter have begun. According to Ather it will be launched on Ather community day which is set to take place on April 6, 2024.
Bajaj
Rajiv Bajaj, the managing director of Bajaj Auto recently confirmed that the Bajaj Pulsar NS400 will be coming to India in April. He said this in an interview with CNBC TV18, specifying that the bike will be launched by the end of the last financial year or the beginning of this one. Implying that the launch could take place by the end of March or beginning of April.
We expect the bike to come at a price of Rs 1.7 lakh ex-showroom which will make it more affordable than the Bajaj Dominar 400. For perspective, the Dominar comes at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 2,29,781.
Other than the NS400, we can also expect the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 to be launched this month as well. We saw spy shots of the bike being tested and the images have revealed a lot.
Hero
Hero MotoCorp had unveiled two scooters at EICMA 2023, the Hero Xoom 125 and Hero Xoom 160. The Xoom 125 is the sportier and more powerful sibling of the Hero Xoom 110 and the Xoom 160 is a maxi-style scooter. We expect both the scooters to be launched in India this month.
The Xoom 125R could come at a price of Rs 1 lakh ex-showroom, whereas the Xoom 160 would likely come at a Rs 1.45 lak (ex-showroom).
Husqvarna Svartpilen 250
Husqvarna Motorcycles first came to India by launching the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. But in 2024, the brand decided to update their lineup by bringing the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 along with the Vitpilen 250.
The fact that the brand hadn’t brought the Svartpilen 250 surprised many, but now we know that they are in fact planning on launching it soon as evident by the fact that the model has been homologated recently. We believe the bike will be coming to India in April and could be priced at around Rs 2,19,000 (ex-showroom).
Indian Scout
Indian is planning on launching the 2024 Indian Scout. The brand had teased the launch on their social media revealing that the new bike will be launching on April 2, 2024.
The Scout is a cruiser that is powered by a 1133cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine which produces 99.3PS and 98Nm.
BMW R 1300 GS
The BMW R 1300 GS is an ADV offering from BMW Motorrad which intends to replicate the success of the BMW R 1250 GS. The new bike comes with a whole new design and engine along with a few tweaks to the underpinnings.
The bike will be powered by a 1300cc liquid-cooled boxer engine which produces 145PS and 149.1Nm. We expect the price to be somewhere around the 24 lakh mark ex-showroom.

I chose this bike for it's looks, easy spare parts availability and uniqueness on roads. This is one of the cheapest 250cc out there. It provides almost all the modern technologies like riding modes, Dual-channel ABS, Traction control, Bluetooth navigation, etc. I liked the seating posture and seat height it is very accessible to all types of riders. I like bikes having good low-end torque for effortless city riding and this machine has very good low to mid range torque so these are the reasons I chose this beautiful machine. The overall ride quality is very good. The suspension is not that stiff and you will definitely feel the adrenaline rush due to it's power. This is a very good city machine as well as capable on highways. On highways you can easily cruise at 80-100 km/h without much stress on the engine. I must say that the engine is very refined and smooth.The pickup is great and it has very good midrange performance. I am getting mileage of around 38 km/l which is decent for a 250cc. You can get mileage of 45 on highways if you cruise at a constant speed. The stability of this bike at speeds of 90-100 is decent but I am not sure about the high stability post 120 km/h. You feel the absence of a 6th gear on highways sometimes but the bike manages the gear ratios pretty well. Overall I'll say this bike has got a very punchy and refined engine. The braking is very good and the front brake response is very satisfying you will feel confident while riding this machine. The exhaust sound is very bassy and head-turning. People will definitely notice you. The pillion seat and rear suspension is a bit on stiffer side but it is good for cities. One thing I must mention is it's class-leading led projector headlights.The throw is very amazing and you will feel confidence on highways.No other bike in this segment provides such powerful headlights. So let's come to conclusion Will I recommend this bike I would say if you love bike having great low and mid range torque refined engine then you should definitely go for N250.But if you want a better highway machine having liquid looked technology and better high speed stability then you can look at NS200. Overall both the bikes have their own pros and cons and it all depends on what kind of rider you are and what you want. At last I would say you can buy N250 it will not disappoint. My friend has bought this scooter and I have also ridden it. It has very good ride quality and gives very good range. Even 2 people can sit comfortably. It gives good range. The seat is also very comfortable. I would recommend everyone to buy it because it is the best. It is the best in mileage. It drives on the road and highway as if you are sitting in a car.
