One of the leading manufacturers from India TVS has declared that it is planning to be among the top 5 in the global market. As reported by an online portal, Venu Srinivasan, chairman TVS has said, “We would like to be among the top five motorcycle manufacturers globally by 2020 and we would like to do that by focusing on products below 250 cc and on southern hemisphere markets like South Asia, South-east Asia, Africa and South America”.

He further added, “As a company, we are confident that it will be able to engineer our way to global top 5," he said. "We have made big strides in styling, fit and finish and we are becoming more nuanced and savvy”. To make its presence globally, TVS will be rolling out a new branding strategy in which its logo ‘The Horse’ will be showcased in its showrooms and the products. A European firm that has worked with Volkswagen will be conducting the branding exercise for this Indian manufacturer. The idea of prominently displaying ‘The TVS Horse’ on all its products & showrooms is to make it symbol of the company that one can instantly recall.

Recently, TVS came up with two of its most talked products of the year Apache and Victor. The Apache RTR 200 is launched on a starting price of Rs. 88,990 and the Victor is available at two different prices Rs.49,490 and Rs.51,490 for its two different variants. Speaking on the product portfolio, Srinivasan said, “The target now is to do 3 or 4 new products every year," to make TVS' portfolio of motorcycles wide enough to cover significant portion of Indian market. "The commuter segment comprises 40% of India's motorcycle mark and our strategy is to use premium bikes and scooters in urban markets and commuter bikes for rural markets." He said, "That's why Apache RTR 200 will but roll-out city-wise with metros followed by state-capitals."

Recently, TVS has shown immense growth in the number of sales in the month of December and ranked on the top of the list, the company cleared its motive to be the market leader in the coming time. With it’s recent launch of Apache and Victor, the sales of the company are expected to reach another milestone. Let’s wait and watch what TVS plans further for ranking among the top five as it is soon coming up with G310 which is being manufactured in collaboration with BMW and there could be more surprises for improving the company’s branding.
