Here are the most popular performance bikes launched in 2021

Sportbikes most of the time make our heads turn. While some of these bikes cost a lot, we are lucky enough that bike makers in India are also launching affordable models of the same. So if you're looking forward to buying one, then this list is for you.

Yamaha R15V4 & R15S V3

The Yamaha R15 is the most affordable sportbike that you can buy right now in the Indian market. This year Yamaha launched the new generation of the bike, the R15 V4, the price of which starts at Rs 1,70,800 (ex-showroom Delhi). The entry-level sportbike has received updates such as a brighter LED headlamp, a new instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, traction control system, upside-down forks from KYB, and new paint schemes. Meanwhile, the brand has continued to sell the previous generation by making it a more practical version by adding a single-piece seat. The R15S V3 retails at Rs 1,58,400 (ex-showroom Delhi).

KTM finally gave us the much-awaited new generation of the RC series. The new RC125 has received mechanical as well as cosmetic updates. For starters, the bike now gets a bigger airbox, new engine maps, a curved radiator, better throttle response, a halogen headlight unit, and an LCD instrument cluster that misses out on Bluetooth connectivity. KTM RC200

After its global unveil in September 2021, KTM also launched the new generation of the RC200 at Rs 2,08,717 (ex-showroom Delhi). The latest iteration of the sportbike has shed quite some weight and has also got a MotoGP inspired design. Other notable updates include MRF tyres, raised clip-on handlebars, dual-channel ABS, 320-230mm disc brake setup and a 199.5cc engine that now puts out 25.8PS and 19.5Nm (up by 0.8PS and 0.3Nm).

In April 2021, TVS had released a teaser image of the RR310 and the latest iteration of the supersport motorcycle finally arrived with a few cosmetic upgrades (BTO Kit) in September. Customers can also customise the RR310 by choosing between two kits: Dynamic and Race and TVS also offers Race Replica Graphic for an extra cost of Rs 4,500. The Apache RR310 will set you back by Rs 2,59,990 (ex-showroom Delhi).

2021 Suzuki Hayabusa

Whenever we talk about a premium sportbike, the Suzuki Hayabusa is discussed for sure. Finally, in 2021, Suzuki has given the Hayabusa a much-awaited update. While the Peregrine Falcon has received minor styling tweaks, the major update happens to be with the electronics and mechanicals. The Suzuki Hayabusa is priced at Rs 16.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and now it features a six-axis IMU, lean-sensitive traction control, wheelie control, launch control, engine brake control, and a bi-directional quick-shifter.

Other premium offerings include the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R that has got an all-new styling, the Honda CBR650R that is sold via the CKD route, and the 2021 Ducati Panigale V4 and the SuperSport 950. The former gets identical fascia, winglets as standard, three riding modes: Street, Sport and Race and much more. Meanwhile, the latter has received new styling elements and improved electronics. The Italian bike maker, Aprilia, has also brought the RS 660 and the RSV4 to our shores, and both the motorcycles feature a sophisticated electronics package, powerful engines and aerodynamic design.
