Yamaha has launched the 2026 R25 in Malaysia with the addition of two new colour options: Icon Blue and Mint Green. Apart from this cosmetic update, the entry-level twin-cylinder sportbike remains unchanged mechanically.
Priced at RM 23,098 (approximately Rs 5.54 lakh), the R25 continues to be positioned as an accessible performance motorcycle in Yamaha’s global lineup. However, its availability remains limited to select international markets for now.
New Colours Add More Visual Appeal
The Icon Blue shade continues Yamaha’s signature racing theme. It closely resembles the finish seen on the Yamaha R15 V4 in India, featuring a deep metallic blue paint across the fairing and tank, paired with darker lower panels. The blue alloy wheels and golden-coloured USD fork further add to the sporty look.
In contrast, the Mint Green option offers a more unconventional and youthful appeal. The light green bodywork is complemented by black and red graphics, while the black wheels with subtle red highlights complete the styling.
Engine And Performance Remain Unchanged
The R25 continues with its 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 34.9PS and 22.6Nm. Known for its smooth and linear power delivery, the motor remains one of the key highlights of the motorcycle.
India Launch: Don’t Get Your Hopes Too High
There’s no official word from Yamaha regarding the R25’s India debut. Given its current pricing overseas, localisation would be crucial to make it viable here. For now, the R25 is likely to remain a Southeast Asia-focused product, while Yamaha continues to push the R3 in India. That said, Yamaha did recently file a patent under the ‘YZF-R2’ badge in India, which could fill a noticeable gap in the brand’s lineup, something enthusiasts have been asking for.

- Neat condition bike with awesome road presenceThis bike is very good while daily riding is the main factor as the mileage is very good like 43 kmpl in city traffic and the maintenance cost is very low if you ride the bike properly. Also the road presence particularly of this edition is great. If you wish to look good while getting an optimum performance then you can definitely go for it. - The Yamaha R15 V4 is a popular 155cc entry-levelI had a brother who likes riding this old r15 and I was small and didn't knew any super bikes at all, and this was my first super bike which had all sharpnes at edges, the colour, the speed, it had some personality. Its been amazing bike so far, smooth, light weight. Its top speed is pretty good. It gives good mileage. It is very nice for long rides. Performance of the bike is so good. Suspensions works very well on road. Yes, for sure but take my opinion and explore different bike, It may have something that this bike wouldn't have that charm but you can go for it, if you want sporty look and a good racing bike.
