The latest news about the Austrian Manufacturer is that they are entering into the 2017 MotoGP world championship racing. The announced was made by KTM CEO Stefan Pierer while having a discussion with Speedwick, right after revealing the development plan of a new V4 MotoGP platform. It is expected that the company will also launch its road version for the KTM lovers, but with the detuned engine to generate less power.

KTM’s Motorsports Director Pit Beirer said, “Thursday was a very emotional moment, not only for me but also for the company, and I believe for many KTM fans in Austria and all over the world. This and the start of the project on the racing circuit are just as important as any lap time. A very big thanks to Alex (Hofmann) and the entire team for the excellent performance. The feedback and the fact that we were already able to put in very many laps without any problems gives us a lot of motivation for the next steps in this long journey towards our entry into MotoGP in 2017”.

As the spied pictures suggest, the bike seems to be built on a tubular steel trellis frame, like the other KTM bikes along with an Akrapovic exhaust, WP suspension setup and Brembo brakes. The bike is equipped with the newly developed V4 engine that will churn out minimum 250bhp, it is the most powerful bike in the KTM’s history.
