The 2022 RS-X Repsol Edition has been launched in Malaysia

The Honda RS-X is a sporty underbone scooter that was launched in Malaysia back in November 2021. Joining it, is the new 2022 Honda RS-X Repsol Edition.

Given that it gets the Honda MotoGP livery, you’d be expecting this moped to be embedded in bright orange. But it’s surprising to see that that’s not the case. The moped is actually dominated by red and white a lot more, with orange only distinctively visible on some panels, wheels and a small portion on the front.

The Honda RS-X Repsol Edition carries on with the same 149.16cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine pumping out 16PS at 9000rpm and 13.6Nm at 7000rpm mated to a six-speed transmission. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. It gets single discs at both ends and makes do with a single-channel ABS,

Rolling on 17-inch alloy wheels, the RS-X comes shod with a 90/80 front and a 120/70 at the rear.

Talking about its features, the RS-X gets an LCD digital instrument cluster with a gear position indicator. There’s LED lighting all around, and the scooter gets a 4.5-litre tank.

A seat height of 795mm and a kerb weight of 122kg ensure that it’s easily accessible for people of all sizes.

Only 5,000 units of the Honda RS-X Repsol Edition will go on sale. Keeping this exclusivity in mind, it has been priced at RM9,948 (approximately Rs 1,78,112) ex-showroom, which is a premium of RM398 (approximately Rs 7,155) over the base RS-X price of RM9,550 (approximately Rs 1,70,986).

Honda is known for equipping its road-going products with MotoGP-themed colour schemes, In fact, the company already offers Repsol makeover of the Grazia, Hornet and Dio.  in India. You can check out the launch story here. Sadly, it’s unlikely that the RS-X will make its way to the Indian market. That said, if you’re looking for a performance-oriented 150-odd cc scooter, the Yamaha Aerox 155 is the best bet.
