Honda One Make Race- Round 3 concluded, Results out

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has concluded the third Round of Honda One Make Race 2014 in associations with ‘MMSC - FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2014’ at the Madras Motor Race Track.

This is for the seventh year in succession that the Honda One Make Race continues to be the one stop destination of all biking enthusiasts in the country. This is a unique platform through which Honda promotes ‘Motorsport Culture in India, while also providing ‘Fun Riding Experience’ to all participants as well as spectators without compromising on safety and in a controlled environment.

High on adrenaline and excitement; the new format of ‘Honda One Make Race’ tested riders in two broad categories of races - Novice & Open according to their racing expertise.

Overall 68 riders participated in Round 3 of Honda One Make Race.

CBR 250R category was the Team Championship wherein nineteen CBR 250R motorcycles were leased to professional racing teams registered at FMSCI. These include – Moto Rev, Ten 10, Apex Racing, ProLap Racing to name a few. Honda modified each CBR 250R motorcycle with imported HRC performance kits for an exhilarating output. Honda also supported participating teams with original spare parts worth Rs.10,000 and a set of race tires replacement. Further, registered teams made modifications to enhance performance of their motorcycle.

The CBR 250R race saw intense suspense till the last minute. The race came to a nail biting finish with Ranchi boy Sumit Loucs Toppo winning by a 3000th of a second margin!

The Novice CBR 150R category too saw a lot of action. In Round 3, a total of 17 riders qualified out of a total 49 participants. This was the first time that female racer from Chennai too raced on the track.

The Round 3 saw a healthy mix of participants converging at Chennai from as far as Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Ranchi, Aizwal, Jalgaon, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Trichy and Aoroville.

Over and above in ‘Honda One Make Race 2014’, Honda also provided CBR 150R with original spares support on lease for Group C and Group D of ‘National Motorcycle Racing Championship’ to 4 teams. To induct the novice and amateur riders to safe riding, Honda also provided CBR 150R to MMSC to run the Group C and Group D classes.

Top 3 racers were awarded attractive cash prizes (1st – Rs. 7500, 2nd – Rs. 5000, 3rd – Rs. 2500).
