Extraordinarily, the designed-by-Indians-for-Indians Honda H’ness CB350 is now being exported to Japan

Can you imagine how odd it would be if MDH were to set up offices in London, make sambar masala in the Queen’s land, and then export it back to India? That’s sort of what’s happening with Honda right now because the H’ness CB350 that the Japanese manufacturer developed in India, for India, is now being exported back to its home nation of Japan. There are a few differences, though. The H’ness is called the GB350 in Japan and the CB350RS goes by the name GB350 S. The two bikes are also around 1kg lighter than their Indian counterparts, most likely due to the more lenient emission regulations in Japan.

But the biggest difference is that the Japanese market gets unique colour options, entirely different from the ones available in India. The GB350 is available in three shades (in ascending order of gorgeousness): Matte Pearl Morion Black, Matte Jeans Blue Metallic, and Candy Chromosphere Red. While some of our Indian colour options are quite tasty themselves, we don’t think any of them can quite hold a candle to this lovely red shade.

The GB350 S, meanwhile, gets two colour options: the somewhat mundane Gunmetal Black Metallic and the extremely fetching Pearl Deep Mud Grey. The quirkiness of the names might have something to do with the fact that they’ve been translated from Japanese, but they look stupendous nonetheless. We hope to see some of these in our own showrooms sometime in the future.
