The 300cc maxi-scooter is likely to be sold via the CBU route

The Forza 300 will likely be sold through Honda’s BigWings dealerships across the country.  Once launched, it could be one of the most expensive scooters to go on sale in India.  The maxi-scooter features dual-channel ABS and traction control.

According to our sources, Honda is planning to launch its premium 300cc scooter, the Forza 300, in India by the end of this year. The upcoming Japanese scooter will go up against the 22Kymco 300i as both of them are large capacity maxi-scooters. However, where the 300i is priced at Rs 2.3 lakh (on road Delhi), the upcoming Forza 300 could be priced around Rs 8 lakh to Rs 9 lakh (on road Delhi). This will not only make it the most expensive Honda scooter in India, but it will also cost more than a Kawasaki Ninja 650

So what makes this scooter so expensive? First off, Honda is likely to bring it to our shores via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, which attracts higher import duties and taxes. Secondly, it is packed with features. Apart from an all-LED light setup and a semi-digital instrument cluster, the maxi-scooter is equipped with an electronically adjustable windscreen. Being a touring-focused maxi-scooter, it gets a huge underseat storage that can hold two full-face helmets. It also houses a 12-volt socket.

Suspension duties are handled by a 33mm telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers with 7-stage spring preload adjustability at the rear. Stopping power comes from a single 256mm disc brake at the front and a 240mm rear disc brake. Additionally, it gets dual-channel ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), making it the first Honda scooter in the country to come with this feature. Essentially, this feature helps monitor the power going to the rear wheel during slippery conditions.

As of now, there’s no official word from Honda India, but Delhi BigWings dealership has confirmed that Honda is planning to bring the maxi-scooter by the end of this year. However, if you want you can visit the Honda BigWings dealership in Delhi to see for yourself how an Rs 8 lakh scooter looks like in real life.
