In tune with this year’s United Nation’s theme “Go Wild for Life’, Honda is celebrating Environment Week at its dealerships and manufacturing plants from 5th June -11th June 2016.

The second largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI), has started its World Environment Day celebration at its dealership network and manufacturing plants across the country. In tune with this year’s United Nation’s theme “Go Wild for Life’, Honda is celebrating Environment Week from 5th June -11th June 2016.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr Keita Muramatsu, president and CEO, HMSI said, “Preserving the environment is top of the mind for us at Honda. As a responsible corporate, Honda announced it’s global vision of 30% CO2 reduction by 2020 and in India too, we are actively contributing to build a greener tomorrow. The same reflects in our processes, technology and plant architecture.”

Honda has plants in Manesar (Haryana), Tapukara (Rajasthan), Narsapura (Karnataka), Vithalapur (Gujarat), and 4500 dealerships network across India. The company has a holistic approach towards environment preservation through its Green Factory, Green Dealer & Green Supplier concept aiming for a Cleaner, Greener & Brighter tomorrow.

The engagement activities for the World Environment Day were conducted through tree plantation and sapling distribution at schools, dealerships and plants, free PUC check-up and jute bag distribution at the dealerships. Awareness messages were spread through a sticker on invoices and employee uniforms and various employee engagement programs including in-house training, slogan & poster making competition, environmental awareness training & quiz. Also, skit play, awareness banners and mailers were organised to create a consciousness for a greener & better environment.

Honda never forgets to include children in such activities which can help in building responsible young adults. So, school children were engaged in the Environment Day celebration through quiz, drawing competitions and rallies along with plantation drives. Additionally, Honda will also be doing awareness creating cleanup campaigns and rallies for a clean & better environment in the remaining days of its campaign.
