Features Bluetooth connectivity as standard, but demands a steep price

After announcing its intention to launch eight products this festive season, Hero MotoCorp has now launched the Xtreme Stealth Edition 2.0 with a price tag of Rs 1,29,738 (ex-showroom Delhi). The new variant demands a premium of Rs 5932 over the previous Stealth Edition model which was launched last year. So, what does the new variant have to offer?

The Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 comes with a not-so-stealthy black and red paint combination. While the body panels are finished in the dark colour, bits like the fork tubes, engine head, pillion footrest and grab rail along with graphics and rim stickers are finished in the contrasting bright red paint. Lastly, it also gets knuckle guards and a larger belly pan.

But the changes on this variant are more than cosmetic. Hero MotoCorp has introduced the ‘Hero Connect’ feature which brings with it smartphone connectivity. This includes features like geo fence alert, speed alert, topple alert and tow away alert. Unfortunately, Hero has chosen to skimp out on call/sms alerts and navigation.

There are no mechanical changes to the motorcycle, and it continues to use the same 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, making 15.2PS and 14Nm. It even retains the same suspension and brake setup. However, the bike’s kerb weight has gone up from 139.5kg to 143kg.

The Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0 goes up against the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer and the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. While the new variant of the Xtreme does command a big hike, Hero has tried justifying it with a few feature updates. The good news, however, is that these features could be offered as standard on other trims next year, just like we saw with the 2022 Xtreme 160R
