Suzuki 2019 Gixxer Highlights

Suzuki has launched the new 2019 Gixxer at Rs 1,00,212 (ex-showroom. Delhi). At this price, the new Gixxer costs Rs 11,271 more than the previous 2018 Gixxer SP. The new bike gets a completely new bodywork and a fuel-injected motor. For now, the 2019 Gixxer will be sold alongside the 2018 Gixxer SP.

For 2019, the Gixxer SF gets an all-new design language with larger tank extensions and new tail section. It gets a sportier split seat that, at 195mm, is 15mm taller than the previous Gixxer. The fuel tank capacity remains the same 12 litres. Colour options include Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Sonic Silver and a two-tone Black/metallic Triton Blue. New features include an all-new LED headlamp, LED tail lamp and a new digital instrument console - all borrowed from the 2019 Gixxer SF. 

Unlike the older Gixxer’s carburetted motor, the new model gets a BS6-ready fuel-injected 155cc motor that it shares with the 2019 Gixxer SF. Working alongside a 5-speed gearbox, this motor produces 14.1PS at 8000rpm and 14Nm at 6000rpm.

The new bike gets fat 41mm fork, mono-shock and disc brakes at both ends. Its single-channel ABS setup has been carried over from the previous Gixxer. 

Primary rivals for the new Gixxer include the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZ-FI, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
