The move will set the ball rolling for affordable Triumph motorcycles for India and global markets

Talks about the possible partnership between Triumph and Bajaj commenced back in 2017.  Expect small capacity Triumphs and multi-cylinder Bajaj motorcycles to be made as part of the deal.  The new motorcycles could be revealed at EICMA later this year.

Bajaj and Triumph are all set to finalise their partnership and sign on the dotted line soon! We first heard talks about the possible partnership back in 2017. With the partnership being finalised, we can finally look forward to some interesting and affordable performance motorcycles.

The new partnership is expected to spawn motorcycles between the 400cc to 700cc range. Currently, Triumph and Bajaj do not have any products in this range. While Triumph has the upper hand when it comes to building technologically superior big motorcycles, Bajaj has a vast manufacturing network and export setup. Under the new partnership, Triumph is expected to utilise Bajaj’s manufacturing setup to build small capacity motorcycles in India and then export it worldwide. This would allow Triumph to keep a check on manufacturing costs and price its upcoming small capacity motorcycles at a lower price. Bajaj would benefit by absorbing Triumph’s technical knowledge to build more advanced motorcycles. With the help of Triumph, Bajaj could possibly even make multi-cylinder motorcycles with superior electronic rider aids.

How will we benefit from this partnership? Could we get an affordable 400cc Triumph motorcycle? Or a twin-cylinder Bajaj Dominar to take on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650? Get all the answers on January 24.
