Triumph Ride for Freedom Celebrates India's 70 Years of Independence

The Ride for Freedom was organised in collaboration with Smile Foundation, across various cities in India and the participants pledged their support towards the cause of educating the girl child

This Independence Day was made all the more special by Triumph Motorcycles India. The iconic British motorcycle maker partnered with Smile Foundation to celebrate 70 years of India's independence by organising the Ride for Freedom event. The event was organised across various cities in India to support the cause of educating the girl child. The participants pledged to contribute to the cause. The rides were flagged off from and ended too at Triumph dealership in the respective cities.

Vimal Sumbly, MD of Triumph Motorcycles India, called the Ride for Freedom great as it brought together the Triumph motorcycle owners for a noble cause. He also said, "While we celebrate the 70th year of India's Independence, it is our responsibility to make our country a stronger, independent nation. This Triumph Motorcycles' 'Ride for Freedom' is a pledge to empower our girl children by providing them proper education."

The Smile Foundation is known for its exemplary work in healthcare, education and livelihood sectors. It works closely with children and also undertakes women empowerment programmes. Its work benefits more than 4,00,000 children and their families every year. To do so, it runs more than 200 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment in more than 950 remote villages and slums across India.

The COO of Smile Foundation Vikram Singh Verma said, "This is a very heartening gesture by Triumph Motorcycles India to come forward for the cause of providing education to a girl child belonging to the less privileged sections of the society. We would also like to thank all the Triumph Motorcycles owners who came forward to support this initiative, which is certain to tug many hearts."
