Top 10 Upcoming Bikes And Scooter Launches Of 2021

The next six months is set to be exciting with multiple launches from different brands

We’re half way through the year, and while the last few months have been difficult both in a general sense as well as from the industry perspective, things seem to be looking better now, and several brands are likely to launch multiple new two-wheelers in the next six months. Here’s a list of the top ten most awaited ones:

2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350:

The 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350’s launch was delayed due to the ongoing second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. But now that the industries are slowly opening up, expect Royal Enfield to launch this motorcycle first thing, likely next month. In fact, it was just recently spotted in a launch-ready avatar. You can read all about it here. It is likely to command a premium of around Rs 10,000 over the current-gen model, which retails from Rs 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Royal Enfield Hunter 350:

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a neo-retro roadster, and is the third motorcycle to spawn out of the all-new J platform. It exudes a slightly sporty demeanour thanks to the upswept exhausts, upright yet slightly sporty riding position and a bodywork that’s reminiscent of the Triumph Speed Twin. Going by the test mule spotted in April, it’s safe to say the launch isn’t too far away, perhaps in August or September. Expect Royal Enfield to price the bike at around Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom).

Royal Enfield 650cc Cruiser (Roadster 650):

After Royal Enfield launches the two 350cc motorcycles, expect the cult bikemaker to continue its launch salvo with the Roadster 650, cruiser based on the Interceptor 650. It could hit the showrooms this festive season, at an expected price tag of Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Check out what this motorcycle packs here.

2021 TVS Apache RR 310:

2020 model shown for representation

Like Royal Enfield, TVS was also supposed to launch the 2021 iteration of its flagship motorcycle, the Apache RR 310, in April. But now with restrictions being eased up, expect TVS to launch the faired bike in the coming weeks. TVS is likely to equip the 2021 model with adjustable levers and a preload adjustable front fork a la the Apache RTR 200 4V. If we’re lucky, expect TVS to also tweak the engine for a more crisp power delivery.

2021 KTM RC 390:

The KTM RC 390 has become a bit too long in the tooth now. Even during the BS6 transition, the motorcycle just got a side-slung exhaust and no other updates in terms of its design. But worry not, as KTM is all set to change that with the upcoming 2021 RC 390. The motorcycle looks almost production ready and here’s what to expect. KTM is likely to launch this motorcycle in the next couple of months, possibly at around Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda Rebel 500:

In March 2020, Honda surprised us by announcing its plans of launching its 500cc range, including the Honda Rebel 500 in India. While the ongoing pandemic may have delayed things a bit, expect the Japanese brand to launch the bike in a few months. This would be Honda’s second 500cc offering after the CB500X. We hope Honda prices this motorcycle much better than the obnoxiously expensive ADV, which retails at Rs 6.87 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’s everything you need to know about this 500cc cruiser.

Honda CBR500R:

The Honda CBR500R will be Honda’s most affordable fully faired bike in India. It shares its powerplant with the Rebel 500 and the CB500X but instead of a proper track tamer, the CBR500R is more of a sporty tourer with aggressive yet comfortable ergonomics, thanks to the raised clip-on handlebars. Honda could follow up the Rebel 500’s launch with the CBR500R, presumably after a month or two. If you’re keen to know more about this motorcycle, head here

Ola Electric Scooter:

Ola electric has made grand plans of entering the Indian electric scooter segment with a massive production plant in Tamil Nadu and an even more ambitious charging network sprawling across the country, all planned for this year. Expect Ola to launch the electric scooter in this year’s festive season at an estimated price tag of around Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). Here are more details about Ola Electric’s first product.

Simple Energy Mark 2:

Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy has confirmed its electric scooter, the Simple Energy Mark 2, will be launched on August 15. The company has even revealed the scooter’s targeted price bracket (between Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh). The icing on the cake is that the company claims a ARAI-verified range of 240km on Eco mode, a top speed of 100kmph and a 0-50kmph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds. Should the Ather 450X be worried? Head here to know more about the Mark 2

Suzuki Burgman Electric:

The Suzuki Burgman Electric will be the Japanese brand’s first electric two-wheeler in India. Understandably, Suzuki has chosen the premium and sporty looks of the Burgman Street for its first electric scooter. In fact, the scooter looks quite similar to its petrol-powered sibling save for the flashy white and blue colour scheme. We expect the Burgman Electric to hit the showrooms by the end of this year. Here’s what you can expect from this maxi-styled electric scooter.

User Reviews

👍 good reviews from my side

Good but I think Royal Enfield should work on speed and mileage and they have to work on silencer because it is mainly known for its sound. If sound is getting silent in bs6, the bullet is generally getting downgraded ratings from all customers. Royal Enfield should work on this side and overall the experience is good.Read More

Royal enfield the build machine

My first preference is short height bike because it's easy to handle it plus maintenance was so reliable. As per compare to the other with the same segment Hunter is far better then others. I really love to ride royal enfield bikes. For the city riding you love it like handling was very amazing plus throttle response is very amazing. For the lobby route you can adjust your seat or add some cusion over the seat or buy the new seat. For the city purpose you can buy this bike only. As I have a classic 350 and metor. l really like to ride hunter only because that machine is more powerfull as compared to other RE machine like the engine sound and silencer sound without changing any parts it shows the old version one. E-Burgman a good evening scooter

Because I want to choose VFM e-bike and a sporty e-bike. I have taken the test drive before at my nearest suzuki showroom which gave me excellent service to my e-bike I have been using it for 3 months and the impression is excellent. I have a glorious ride with my e-bike and it give me excellent impression. Ride was too smooth as the suspension were different from other scooty. It gave me a range of 140 kms in one single charge. The motor power was excellent on the sports mode as well as eco mode. Yes I would recommend this bike to a daily user as well as rarely user. As you ride it long you will get comfort as well as better riding experience. It is also a good option for the young new generation who likes sportiness. The electric scooter of suzuki is amazing.Read More
