From a faired bike to an ADV, and even a sporty scooter, here are other options in the same price bracket

    XSR155 Same Price Other Options

The Yamaha XSR 155 is one of those motorcycles that doesn’t scream for attention, but earns it. Along with sharp handling, it promises city-friendly upright riding posture, and a perfect old-school charm in its design with modern finish.

Still, if you are not convinced about the XSR and want something different in personality (and even looks for that matter), you’ll be happy to know there are lots of really good choices within the Rs 1.5 lakh to 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom) price bracket. Here’s what else you can pick for the XSR’s price.

    Royal Enfield Hunter 350

    Price: Rs 1.38-1.67 lakh (ex-showroom)

    RE Hunter 350

Want your neo-retro bike to have a bit more authentic vintage feel, especially with a torquey long-stroke engine? Then, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 makes a very strong case here. Powered by a 349cc, air-cooled, counterbalanced engine, it’s got a great low-end torque delivery without compromising on refinement. Paired with a 5-speed gearbox and assist & slipper clutch, its single-cylinder mill produces 20.2PS at 6,100rpm and 27Nm at 4,000 rpm.

The Hunter is built on a twin-downtube spine frame with 41mm telescopic front forks and 6-step adjustable twin rear shocks. It’s pretty agile, despite weighing 181kg kerb. That said, it’s fairly light for a Royal Enfield bike, and the 790mm seat height keeps it accessible too. It gets a dual-channel ABS, semi-digital instrument console, a Tripper navigation pod with smartphone connectivity too. You can also read a more in-depth XSR155 vs Hunter 350 comparison.

    TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

    Price: Rs 1.40-1.47 lakh (ex-showroom)

    TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

If retro isn’t your thing, but the performance and tech are, then you will admire the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Powered by a 20.82PS, 17.25Nm engine, the Apache is really fun to ride - be it in the city or on the occasional breakfast runs. Along with an assist & slipper clutch, it offers three riding modes: Urban, Rain and Sport, and a healthy claimed top speed of 127kmph.

If the XSR is about style, the Apache RTR 200 4V is about features. The top-spec TFT variant comes loaded with a projector headlamp and a coloured smartphone-connected TFT display featuring navigation, voice assist, and more. Even the underpinnings are premium, and there are adjustable brake and clutch levers as well. It doesn’t compromise on safety either, with dual-channel ABS available as standard.

    Yamaha R15S

    Price: Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Yamaha R15S

Want to stay with the same sporty Yamaha platform but without the retro theme? You can opt for the Yamaha R15S, which not only looks sporty but also lives up to its look. It features a full-body fairing on the same Deltabox frame as the XSR, and a 155cc liquid-cooled engine putting out 18.4PS and 14.2Nm. Changes apart from the styling include a set of clip-on handlebars for a more committed riding posture and better wind protection at high speeds. While the rider’s posture is aggressive, the single-piece seat should be a little more comfortable for the pillion compared to the split-seat-equipped R15 V4.

Coming to the features, the R15S offers an assist & slipper clutch, disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, and a full-digital instrument cluster.

    Hero Xoom 160

    Price: Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Hero Xoom 160

Not keen on compromising practicality, but still want performance and unique design in a scooter? The Hero Xoom 160 is for you. It’s a maxi-scooter powered by a 156cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine, producing about 14.8 PS and 14 Nm of torque, and paired to an automatic gearbox. While its seating position is far more relaxed than that of any sporty motorcycle, its telescopic forks, 14-inch alloy wheels, wide block-pattern tyres, should help it take on bad roads with ease. It even gets disc brakes with ABS.

The Xoom 160 features a sportsbike-like twin-pod LED headlamp, and a digital display with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The scooter also offers a smart key, enabling keyless ignition, remote seat opening and a Smart Find feature to help pin-point the scooter in crowded parking lots.

    Hero Xpulse 200 4V

    Price: Rs 1.41-1.55 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Hero Xpulse 200 4V

If your riding includes bad roads, or even if you’re a fan of weekend trail-riding, the Xpulse 200 4V Pro changes the equation entirely. It is not really the best-looking motorcycle in the list nor does it have the most powerful engine. But when you want to go off-road, no other bikes in this list can match its capabilities. Its 200cc, air/oil-cooled engine churns out 19.2 PS and 17.3Nm, and works alongside a 5-speed gearbox. It features an LED projector headlamp, three-mode ABS, and a digital console with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.

It is a functional adventure machine with a tall seat, high ground clearance, long suspension travel, and larger wire-spoke wheels. While all that doesn’t sound very city-friendly, the Xpulse finds its home where the tarmac ends. Plus, Hero offers two versions — a standard one with a lower, city-friendly seat height (825mm) and a Pro version that’s taller but with even better off-road capabilities.

This bike is awesome and stable
I choose this bike because of performance and mileage. Everything is perfect in the bike and the look and design is really awesome. It looks like a racer bike. This bike suit me a lot because I am 5.6. The performance of this bike is really awesome. I can play with this bike and this is really awesome for cruising or for racing because it has high performance gears and stability of the bike is awesome. I will recommend this to buy because I get sufficient mileage for city rides and if I want to go to highway, I can get around 36 to 37 which is really nice for long tours and rides. It comes with very less weight.

      Royal enfield the build machine
My first preference is short height bike because it's easy to handle it plus maintenance was so reliable. As per compare to the other with the same segment Hunter is far better then others. I really love to ride royal enfield bikes. For the city riding you love it like handling was very amazing plus throttle response is very amazing. For the lobby route you can adjust your seat or add some cusion over the seat or buy the new seat. For the city purpose you can buy this bike only. As I have a classic 350 and metor. l really like to ride hunter only because that machine is more powerfull as compared to other RE machine like the engine sound and silencer sound without changing any parts it shows the old version one.

      Driven by single person only
Bike's performance is an excellent, powerful pickup, starts easily, one handed used only, driven 7700 km only within 3 and half years. Overall experience is memorable, sound is normal, highway experience is totally amazing, driving R15S vs other bikes is totally different, average can be maintained if we drive well.
