The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride will take place on September 25 across 500 cities in 90 countries and aims to raise $5 million for prostate cancer research

Triumph Motorcycles is the global sponsor of The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride for 2016. The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride was founded in 2012 and is the only motorcycling charity event of its kind to raise funds for combating prostate cancer. This is the third straight year of Triumph Motorcycles sponsoring the event, and, for 2016, the ride will take place on Sunday, September 25.

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride celebrates the art of being dapper and the style of classic custom motorcycles. Triumph Motorcycles began sponsoring the event globally in 2014 as it felt the ride captures everything worth celebrating about motorcycling. The 2015 edition of the ride saw more than 37,000 folks joining forces across 410 cities, raising $2.3 million for prostate cancer research in the process.

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is aiming for 50,000 participants for the 2016 edition. This time, the Ride will take place in over 500 cities across 90 countries. 2016 also marks the first time The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride have chosen the Movember Foundation as their official charity partner. The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride has set a fund-raising goal of $5 million which will be invested by Movember Foundation in prostate cancer research and suicide prevention programs.

Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director of Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd, said, "The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is a wonderful platform for the riders to come together for a noble cause like creating awareness about prostate cancer. We, at Triumph Motorcycles India, are extremely happy to be associated with the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride for the third consecutive year, which is aimed at providing a wholesome riding experience to our customers and brand patrons alongside supporting a worldwide endeavour that deals with men's health issues. The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2015 saw participation from over 500 passionate riders across the country, a number which we expect to grow exponentially this year."

Mark Hawwa, founder of Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, said, "We are just blown away by the traction and the enormous support over the past four years. It's fantastic to see so many different countries and cultures uniting together to offer much needed support toward prostate cancer research and suicide prevention programs. Along with the synergy and genuine support from world class brands such as Triumph Motorcycles and Zenith Watches, and with passionate organisations such as Movember, together we will do everything we can to support the cause and cover the globe with incredibly well dressed gentleman and genteel lady folk." Triumph will be awarding a modern classic motorcycle as a thank you to the most outstanding fundraisers across the world.

Mark founded The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride after getting inspired by a photo of Mad Men's Don Draper astride a classic bike, wearing his finest suit. He decided that a theme ride would be a great way to combat the often-negative men-on-motorcycles stereotype while connecting niche motorcycle communities together. The first ride brought together more than 2,500 riders across 64 cities. The success of the event encouraged Mark to consider it as a way to support a worthy cause.
