Recently we saw a number of two-wheelers at the 2016 Auto Expo but still we missed the most awaited 959 Panigale by Ducati as the Italian automaker did not participate at the event. However, it seems like the manufacturer has some special plans for this bike. If reports are to be believed, the company is now bringing its muscular beast the 959 Panigale at the India Bike Week, the biggest biking festival of the country.

As per reports displayed by an online portal, Ducati is displaying its updated 2016 Panigale at the event, ahead of its launch in July. The bike was first unveiled at EICMA and will replace the 899 Panigale from the company’s portfolio. The new 959 is the updated model of the 899 Panigale. The changes we could see in the upgraded Panigale is that it is comparatively taller and has wider fairing with twin headlight setup, side mounted exhaust and updated electronics and is packaged with more power and performance.

In terms of mechanics, the 959 Panigale by Ducati will come equipped with a 955cc Superquadro V-Twin engine that will generate a maximum of 157 bhp and a peak torque of 107 Nm at 9,000 rpm. Along with this, the mill would be getting a longer piston stroke, redesigned crankshaft, crank journal lubrication and new cylinder heads.

Other changes the new Panigale will get are:

  • Self-servo mechanism
  • New rear-view mirrors similar to 1299 Panigale
  • Shorter wheelbase
  • Steeper suspension
  • Traction Control
  • Engine braking control
  • Ride by wire technology
  • Riding modes
  • Quickshifter
  • ABS
  • Ducati data analyzer to keep the track of performance and lap records

Currently, no information regarding the pricing have been given by the company, but we expect this machine to be priced somewhere between Rs. 14 lac to Rs. 16 lac (ex-showroom).
