yoo yamaha!!

yoo yamaha!!

I’ve bought my yamaha fzfi ver 2.0(black) on august 2014, right after their release. Fell in love with the design in first look and was very pleased with the riding expierience. I am from jaipur and paid an onroad price of 89k for the ride and had to wait just one day. I’ve already taken the bike to my college twice which is about 30km ride from my home and the ride was really smooth and thrilling. I’ve seen a topspeed of 117km/hr but I choose to ride safe in the range 70-90 km/hr and that way gives me a fuel efficiency . The braking is progressive and smooth although a rear discbrake would’ve been nice. The fuel injection is real smooth and throttle response really sets the new fzfi apart from the other bikes in the segment. The only place where I was disappointed was the set of rearview mirrors which looked like one from an old 100cc bike. And the rear mudsplatter guard needs to be tightened with cupwasher or else it makes an uneasy noise in slight offroad conditions. The only other bike worth comparing in the segment is the new suzuki gixxer which gives slightly better pickup and topspeed but lacks in handling, throttle response, fuel consumption and quality of certain parts like handlebar switches compared to the yamaha. But still it costs 6k less than the yamaha and is worth it. Suzuki and yamaha are toe to toe in this segment now that it all comes down to personal decisions. I’ve always been a fan of yamaha and so chose the fzfi and have no regrets. I’ve completed around 13000 km on the bike and did the first 5 free services and is satisfied with yamaha care. I clean the chain myself every 500km. The gixxer is a clear choice when compared to the old fz, as the gear transmission is butter smooth, provides better pickup and topspeed, also the engine concept SEP(suzuki eco performance) is nice. But in case of fzfi the fuel injection and the bluecore technology takes the engine to a whole new level of smoothness. As I said before the two rides stand toe to toe and it all comes down to personal choice between a suzuki and a yamaha. Both provide a reliable quality engine and looks stunning and similar.
